Hrmmm,

I have a 2.7 meg file that has a ".mov" format that won't open in any video player I try.

I have enlisted the help of a guru to see what we can see.

TimeSlice, if you have a another version of this you might send it to me.

In the mean time, I have things to do and am late getting them done. If my guru (Johnny Anonymous) is successful he'll post a link to the video here. He's repairing it now and said it could take up to an hour to get done, so please be patient.

Even if the video is plausible, it would make sense only if the thread starter had posted the Youtube, Liveleak mail details to a reliable party, including all the HEADERS and get the details verified by them.

Not to defend this guy - but some people don't know how to do that stuff. Ive seen grown people not even able to copy paste!

wow... I thought I was a patient person... But this thread has proven that I can still anticipate something way TOOOOOOO much. Gosh, Its like being excited over a screenshot of a new movie. 4 seconds... Guess at least I'm making myself enjoy it more.

so... it's been 12 minutes... Where's the video

That's Quicktime's format... If it doesn't open/play the OP just renamed the extension to whatever. Rename the extension to .avi, .txt, .pdf or whatever. You might find a nice secret message.

Thats just great. Why is time slowing down? how long has it been since the OP posted this thread?! an hour ago?

My eyes are starting to hurt from looking at the computer screen all day. I'm so ready to just log off...

.mov is a quicktime player format I believe. Good old Apple computer. The file can easily be converted to a more common WMV file.

EVERYONE CHILL and PLEASE STOP posting meaningless, one line, "hurry up" or "I am so excited" posts, this IS ATS and we don't do that here. This is going to take a while unless TimeSlice has another version of it.

There's no guarantee JA will be able to repair it and TimeSlice has admitted he's not a "computer person". It may require TS sending me a disc though I do wonder how he got it up on you tube.

There is NO reason not to believe TimeSlice at this point so we won't tolerate any abuse of TimeSlice either.

Thank You...

Well if it doesn't work, may be it's corrupt data / some malicious code to cause buffer overflow etc. Hopefully the Guru that is verifying the video is aware of how unreal a real player could get, if fed with a simple overflow script. Are we taken for a troll? could this be the reason beyond youtube / liveleak rejections?

Try VLC Player. If it can't open the file it probably shouldn't be opened anyway.

If this is a hoax it's pretty amateurish. A good hoax requires some serious preparation - a story, video/photo/documents/possible witnesses, different plots, ready-made answers, updates etc.

Hoaxing here is becoming something of an art form, it is evolving and getting better. I must admit that some of the better hoaxes have been pretty entertaining.

I use Mac OS X machines, and have tons of audio/video players, decoders, dv editing stuff loaded (I used to work in the dv field). If you need anyone to give it a try on another platform, just yell...
