Just thought I would take the time to share my theories on the subject.
To start I feel there was a period when world governments and aliens where unsure of each other and events like the battle of LA show this. Lately it seems there on the same page, but it begs the question why is the public in the dark over this? My answer is it is all about power, civilians with alien technology could lead to chaos.
