Researchers say they have identified the chemical switch that controls the genetic mechanism regulating people's internal body clocks. It is hoped the discovery may lead to more effective drugs to treat sleep disorders and related ailments.

The body's internal clock, a highly sensitive mechanism able to anticipate changes in the environment, regulates a host of body functions, from sleep patterns to metabolism and behaviour.

Hmmm... this seems very interesting. I don't see why this wasn't found before. However, like the article says, it can lead to new medications to treat multiple sleep disorders people have, and possibly create medications to help your metabolism also. I wonder what else this could possibly lead to?
