Ever since I was little, I've had bruises and the like appear on me during my dreams. If i get cut or bruised when i awaken the wounds are in the exact place i dreamt of. A few months ago i dreamt i broke my finger in a door, when i awoke i was covered in blood and my finger was indeed broke. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this or knows anything about it.

I have never had an experience like you described, but I was wondering if you sleep walk at all?

it sounds serious i would definitely go to a doctor, it probably is sleep walking and your dreams are just you vaguely recollecting what you were doing, if not and you are manifesting your dreams i would start visualising baywatch rather then self harm

Go to a doctor ASAP! Go to the hospital tonight!

Not so scare you -- but this is serious. You are clearly suffering from some form of anterograde amnesia, possibly drug induced. These are classic symptoms.

In particular, you may unknowingly be receiving some amnesia inducing drug, such as Midazolam, or some other Benzodiazepine dirivative, such as Rohypnol (Roofies.) If there is any chance that this is happening, you could be in serious danger, and you should call the police.

Be careful. You need to take immediate action. DO NOT DELAY! No one is going to make fun of this or trivialize this.

Please keep us posted.

My goodness, there's alot of repeat threads today! Anyway, here's what I posted on another thread (today), taken from a post I did a while ago. Hope it helps.

I've had...

I've had similiar experiences, posted elsewhere on another thread, but I'll describe to you the things I have woken up with...

I've had the scratches across my chest and back, usually running horizontal across my trunk. Sometimes there will be deep scratches across my legs as well; I can see why some would think that scratches are done by the self while sleeping... after all, that's what my first reaction was (with the exception of the ones on the back, I thought I had slept on something).

I've also had bruising. Very particularly shaped bruises...

I have had a foot shaped bruise on my inner left thigh. Maybe it was the result of a blood clot or a charlie horse, and I may have smacked it loose in my sleep, who knows? But the one bruise I am most proud of, and one that I cannot think of any possible means of doing to myself is this:

I had a hand shaped bruise on the back of my right upper arm; thumb and finger shaped marks were clearly visible. The only problem? It appeared as if it was right handed: the thumb was towards my chest, the fingers wrapped around the other side of my arm.

As a side note, I have also woken up covered in thin layers of dust... don't know what that's supposed to mean...

For me, I usually chalked it up to astral combat experiences, as I have been known to do such things, but for you, I cannot say.

thanks everyone but no i dont sleepwalk my gf actually watched one of the marks materialize on my chest. a bruise formed as she watched me sleep. Its not drug induced, i know that for a fact but thank you for the idea anyway. And as for the self harm thats not what happens. i usually have normal dreams like anyone else but say your dreaming and you fall on your knees and skin them when i wake my knees are really skinned.
or i get in a fight and someone punches me i wake up with the bruises from it.
when i was five my mom actually thought someone was beating me because she didnt want to believe me.

I have never heard of this happening to anyone before. Have you ever thought of calling a sleep dissorder clinic? They will have you spend the night and record you while you sleep. Maybe then, the reason for your injuries will become apparent. If you discuss this with your physician, they might even be able to recommend one. Did you go to the Dr., when you broke your finger? If so, what did you tell Dr. caused the injury?

i thought about calling a sleep clinic but it doesnt happen everynight sand im not really too worried about it because its never major and no i didnt go to the doctor i havent been to the doctor for anything in about 10years
dont really trust em. i just wanted to ask on her because its more discreet and i know its not pyshical in nature. i figured a site like this might have some real answers.

I think you are being a bit of an alarmist here.
The guy asked for help, not to be scared to death.

Fallen one:

I'm not sure what's going on with you but, judging by your avatar, I would say that you are revelling a bit in negative vibes. Without going into too much detail, this may be the root of your problem. Try to redirect your throughts to the positive. Choose hope over fear. Love over hate, etc... It takes time but this is the direction you will eventaully have to go in anyway. Best of luck.

Sorry about that. When I first read the post, I was legitimately scared for Fallen One. But I am reassured by the responses here.

Drug induced temporary amnesia exists. Just do some basic research on it. It is quite alarming! It is a very real and (at least to me) a totally disgusting proposition. It is a horrific control mechanism, a definitive way to steal a person's free will.

Clues that you may have drug induced amnesia: sense of having had hallucinations or very "real" dreams, fleeting memories, no clear memory of events during an 8 to 24 hour period with no known reason for the memory lapse, inexplicable bruising or scratches.

If you suspect that you have been given an amnesia inducing drug, I stand by my advice that you go to a hospital and get tested. The drugs can be found in your system only if you act quickly.

In this case, I trust Fallen One's instincts. (Nobody knows enough about why we dream, or what dreaming even is to say otherwise.) I was working off of preliminary info, and it seemed prudent to make my comments. Sorry if I got anyone upset.

Edit: BTW, there is an interesting ATS thread on precognitive dream experiences here that might be of interest.

thank you i know alot about stuff like that i have a friend who was drugged and i read up on it. I know its not that because its been happening for over 20yrs. plus its just me, my girlfriend and my daughter in the house so i know theyre not drugging me.

I figured id ask on this site because i have no idea whats going on and i just wanted to see if anyone had experienced this, but judging from the responses i assume not.

You just like the picture? Well what about your nick? What about your location-"darkest pit of tartarus"? I'm sorry, i can't really let that pass. I'm saying this because i have had similar experiences. Although much less severe than those blood-letting incidents of yours. And i have found prayer to the almighty creator or Jesus helpful. If you are not a christian, 'technically", still Jesus symbolizes the good in man and God in man, so it's still useful.

Good luck. be safe.

Sounds like you and my husband have a few things in common , he Astrol Travels , it doesn't happen every night but the scary part of it is that while he is off Traveling to farther destinations he gets hurt ..and no he is not sleep walking , falling , or kicking. He wakes up with brusies, once there were cuts that were down to the bone on both of his shins, also on seperate occasions his foot was swollen and he couldn't walk on it for a week . Another time was his swollen knee. He returned once and he was freezing cold, It took alot of blankets and the heater and time to get his temp back to normal...I can tell when he is "gone" when his body is like a lifeless shell, he has shallow breathing and I have also learned that I should never touch him if he is like that . I have awoke him once and it was like he was in a cloud and felt like he was in 2 places at once and that he had to return to finish .. He doesn't always remember where he has been and has no control when it will happen or where next he will go... Like you have said it is like you are having astral combat experiences I have called him an astral warrior in the past. glad to know he is not the only one , scary as it is cause you never know what you will wake up to . Safe travels
