Where are all the admins of ATS by the way?
Can one of you comment on this issue?
I have the overwhelming fealing that something like this will not be taken seriously but i would love to get a chance to try my hand at persuading whoever may need some

Well...

This sounds like a great idea to me. I'm eager to do something (insert ANYTHING! here), about all the stuff I read on this site. Though I'm landlocked here back in Sweden, it's a wee bit hard, but I'm prepared to do what I can. (maybe here's other Swedes ready to gather up and help out?)

And you should definitely have a neat logotype to boot. It tends to draw attention and make a group look more respectable (just look at PNAC, heh).

Anyways, just my 2 öre.

Hey man...you can you anything you want to help this cause. As i have said before there cannot be any selfish or hidden agendas at all becuase we are all a part of the same spiritual construct and at the quantum level are made up of the same stuff. So start a local discussion and debate in your town....it doesnt have to be matters that only concer sweden. If you cant find something wrong with your society, pick one you can find something wrong with and hold debates and discussions regarding that issue. Than try to raise money and get some support from both sides and travel to that place with the hopes to peacefully adjust the system that is leaving its people behind.
Governments get so caught up in partisan politics, talking points and BS legislation and policy that they lose sight of what they are truly supposed to be doing.....helping. Making things difficult for citizens has never and should never be the goal of any politician.

Ok....here is something realistic everyone can do. Start taking notes. Its that simple....just take notes on what you say specifically in a certain situation and write down what you think should have been done differently. The situation might be specific but try and apply a more broad understand of what underlying catalysts are a play there. Get your friends involved as well. Then all you have to do is get together one saturday night with a full keg of beer, maybe some smokes....sit down and discuss then try and publish your findings in a local paper. There....that sounds like a start.

I submit to the entirety of the ATS community that we should all band together, maybe not all at once obviously, and convene in a large forum in the real world and form sort of a civil think tank to try and come up with new ideas that can eventually help the US and humans in general as a whole.

I'm not much of a "joiner." Besides, it's been done to death. Here are another group of people who were interested in bettering mankind, and had a solid plan to do it:

Everybody has their own ideas about what would be best for humanity.

I tried to make the point clear that this isnt something you have to join....there is no name for this group other than the one we already have, Human. Thats all this is dude...they do it in government, the problem is that there is no oversight and too many hidden agendas. I understand that humans are subject to flaws but we have to make sure we all have good intentions which is why i specifically stated that measures need to be taken to rid the atmosphere of all greed and hidden agendas during these discussions and debates. Your wrong though with your assesment because hitler didnt try to evolve humanity at a whole....he killed people and that obviously has nothing to do with the betterment of the human race if the plan called for harming others. Dont be a slave to non conformity....and dont think of this as something you need to conform to because you already belong to the human race. Be proud of it and "join" together with other minds to attempt and make a difference. Someone stated that the 60's were a dress rehearsal and that this is the openning curtain....lets take the power back, not for any other reason than to do good.

Well this thread was doing well....what happend people??
Lets spread the knowledge and get things rolling for the human race. Someone come to this thread with a specific issue and lets see if we can get some people behind it even if just in a debate to figure out a way to make it more humane or just etc....

Sorry, I've been out. I'm still thinking about how to work things here in Sweden. The biggest threat and enemy here is the European Union.

Anyways, about a specific subject, how 'bout

- Police brutality?
- American soldiers on American streets?
- Income tax (law or not?)
- Upcoming elections, do the vote machines really work as they should?
- Naturally, 9/11, inside job or screw-up by NORAD and US intelligence?

That's all that comes to mind right now, but there's a few subjects to chose between on which to focus on. My favorite so far is "Police brutality", or perhaps the income tax thingie. I've heard from some sources it's ratified, and from others, that it's not. Weird...

Anyway, just my 2 öre.

Good ones but a lot of them stem from much larger issues. for example, in my opinion police brutality is perpetuated by decreasing wealth in middle america and increasing beuracracies which inherently restrict the citizens of this country. If people are happy with their lives they wont cause any trouble....as i said before we are humans and understanding the human condition is of the utmost importance. That officer wouldnt have been inclined to raise his night stick (provoked or not) if the victim was treated with respect an not as a criminal right off the bat. Im not saying that there was no crime committed but the perception of the situation is what needs to be revised. If police officers were trained in social policing and taught to relate to society and its inhabitants perhaps many street issues would work themselves out. I understand that violence exists and it might be too late because we are forced to stick with reactive solutions beucase taking proactive measures would be costly and time consuming but im afraid it is necessary. The separations inherent in our society need to be destroyed all together whether you are a cop, doctor, student, teacher....everyone has something to learn from each other. Just remember that gangs started to protect their own people who were being discriminated against unjustly by the ruling class....thats how the mafia got started here because the italians needed protection. Unfortunately when you get caught up in the game for too long the message becomes contrived but we have to remember that the simplest of intentions were good and did exist at one point. The police are a gang as well hired to protect people's interest but the problem is they serve and protect these poeple and threaten and enforce these other people so there is no balance. There is no balance because you cant really ask an officer to do much when you pay them a little more than minimum wage in this economy.

I think interfaith actions are extremely important. If we can come together and educate each other about our religions, we learn from each other that all spiritual paths are valid. If we can deny ignorance and breakdown barriers between each other, it's a good start on relating to each other in other positive ways and breaking down other barriers, whether they are religious, political, cultural, etc.

Guice this is such a brilliant idea. Out of this kind of gathering can come many other brilliant ideas. It would be like starting the ball rolling towards peace and understanding of each other.

Guice, have you submitted your idea to the Admins?

Yes but we cant do anything from our computers that can be considered a catalyst for change in the real world. There is no better way to exchange information than in real time and it doesnt get more real than face to face....how do you think ancient philosophers discussed the pertinant issues and problems of their own societies? They didnt write each other letters....they met in one forum. We have to have many forums but the idea is the same.

You see im waiting for someone to say something like " I will host the first convention at my hotel!" Something like that....or mansion or large backyard. Anyone out there willing to do that? Something nice....catered event with a few speakers here and there.....nothing out of the ordinary at first (aliens) just discussion about smaller injustices that need to be rectified.

What do i have to do to get the admins attention? I just want one of them to comment on this....what do i have to do to get them here curse? Well FUUUU.....hahahaha just kidding. Come on now admins...give me some input. Help us out here, create a memo and pass it along to management.
You have a million people that will be willing to help....you have even more if you want to count the entire human race because im sure everyone wants world peace which is attainable.

Guice, there used to be a suggestions/complaints button but it's not there any more. I guess you could send a U2U to Skeptic Overlord, Simon Gray, or Springer. SO might be the best choice. Just tell them briefly about your idea and point them to this thread. Good luck.

Sounds good.....hey i got a question for you.
Tickets and fines have always bothered me so much so that i have this idea for a documentary which studies the surround circumstances that create speed limits, parking laws and other such mucipal ordinances that place fines on citizens. I was going to travel the country and get pulled over on purpose then review the legislation for that particular state to see if there are any loopholes which there are since i already did this for PA. For example, i discovered in the PA vehicle code that the speed limit signs have to be no more than on half mile away from each other or else the restricted speed limit is not in effect. Well, this is not so at all on the highway and they are still handing out tickets....so there is something wrong here. If we pay taxes that are supposed to go to the maintenance of highways then why arent they built according to their own states legislations? Missapropriation of tax funds anyone? I think so.....has anyone ever done something like this? ANy magazine, like yours, ever cover this type of an issue? Its a huge business since the last i heard from another ATSer is that the total revenue for tickets inthe US for all 50 states comes to about 69billion a year! thats crazy...where is all that money going?

I like your idea Guice. I personally believe that there is a huge amount of graft going on regarding speeding tickets and other traffic violations. They have gotten so expensive that they are now creating quite a large revenue for city and state govts. I've never heard of anyone doing such a documentary.

Its not like nobody is doing anything.

ATS is already sort of a think-tank of citizens banding together.

Changes always first take place in the mind (before action is taken). This is alreadyhappening.

I dont know if "getting everyone to agree" is a path to world betterment. Diversity rules. I dont think two people will agree on "who´s to blame" and "what´s to do".

I could list hundreds of international groups that have come together for a common purpose of bettering the world.

Here´s a prediction: People will keep coming up with the idea you have, and then, one day...this idea will have reached critical mass and ATS will use its membership to focus on goals for the betterment of the world (which is already happening a little bit with Ron Paul).

Yea....its sickening. I had to pay 242 for one speeding ticket which was in a "SAFETY ZONE"
NOw i get safety, and have only been in two accidents which were both stupid mistakes and somewhat unavoidable...but speeding is an ambiguous concept that the states and local municipalities have built a negative connotation around. They create an atmosphere that is defined only by reactive negative enforcement and waste tax money by creating jobs whose sole purpose is to write tickets. There is no education in this system...only lose correlations. Driving itself is a dangerous act, we all know this....its up to the person inside the car to make the trip safe but its also up to the car manufacturers. When i spoke with a woman from the department of transporation for PA i asked her if she thinks they should make SUV's illegal on the highway because the argument can be made that driving them is just as unsafe for other motorists as speeding can be. There are so many facits to this argument that it will take a long time to iron them out but it basically comes down to perception.
