There has been some discussion on the Janet Jackson superbowl stunt and it got me wondering. Why is nudity bad? Isnt it because in the Christian bible, Adam and Eve had to wear it after they got kicked out of Eden? So, if they are trying to erase the bible from everything, wouldnt this mean allowing nudity?

Stop and think about what you are saying.

Nudity is frowned upon for a very good reason.

Go to the nearest Walmart. Look around. Do you really want to see those people naked?

Adam and Eve were told by the serpant that they were naked and explained what it meant so they made clothes out of leaves. God later asked them why they were wearing the leaves and they said because they were naked...i dont really know the whole thing, but if it wasnt for them we'd all be naked right now

imagine the perverts and rapists in the summer time if nudity was legal and everyone did it, it would be too tempting for those sick bastards and it would cause too much trouble

HowardRoark, I dont wanna see people nude either, lol. Im just debating whether or not nudism is illegal because of the bible. If it is, they may change that, and NotTooHappy may have the opportunity to see a hairy fat guys wang floppin around.

Well, I do know that in some parts of Canada, women are allowed to go topless within municipalities. If I am wrong about this, someone could correct it.

I certainly feel that there is somewhat a laxity in terms of what our society is coming to accept. If nudity on television like the Janet Jackson incident is being shown, I imagine that there is some sort of agenda by corporations to exploit nudity for profit. Whether this becomes law or not, it's possible to the extent, I think, of only being nudity of the upper body.

Immortal you are not wrong. It is legal for a woman to go topless in Canada. That is not the problem I have with this J.J. thing. It was so staged. DAMN, this is about the players not some singer. I wish I could type how I actually feel.

I agree. I wouldnt want to see some guy showing his hairy ass to everyone all over the place. I would need some therapy after seeing that.

Watch most any european TV or just go to the beach and you will see nudity. I don't see the europeans having any more problems with perverts than we do because of it, in fact it seems there is less news of sex crimes from there than here in the US, why is that the case? - is it because we make such a big deal of sexuality and prudence that it makes some here so concentrated on it that they become deviant.

I think there is a difference between nudity and porn. I'm looking at it from what I've heard. Nudist prefer to be without clothes because they find it confining. I think they're probably right. It's our way at looking at things that corupts it.

First of all, Clothing provides functional and practical uses besides just covering our nakedness. Protection from the elements of nature and that kind of thing.

Other than reasons of practicality though, I think one of the major reasons is because of the 'Human Condition' and our illogical assumption that we should be shameful about ourselves and/or others for what we are "Naturally". Basically it comes down to the fact that many people are not able to accept others or themselves for who and what they are and so they feel that 'Hiding' or 'Lying' makes for a valid substitute. Let's face it, people are so 'shallow' and obsessed with the 'physical/materialistic' part of reality that even being clothed isn't enough anymore. If someone doesn't represent a certain style of dress the result can range from riddicule/teasing/disassociation to social/political status and approval.

People have been conditioned and brainwashed into NEVER being able to accept and know themselves or others for who they are, both the good points and the bad. It is truely sad that humans are so afraid of the pure and natural human form.

.....yes Mojom not to mention it's distasteful. Yes there may be some people out there that would love to scope out some guy/gals package, but not everybody is like that. Like mentioned earlier, that's what nudist colonies are for.

I wouldn't mind seeing your avatar nude

It's illegal without any real basis, and depends on culture/society... it's just a silly little (possibly religious) game people play!

I think IMMORTAL makes a most sensible point here. Seeing as though the American way is to exploit things in your favor to generate the profits. Sounds like a good enough reason to me. If America were more socialist, people would more than likely be able to go nude easier.

How do you explain the fact that they allow it in Canada but not here? More socialist, more nudity; see the pattern?
