In recent years, I've stopped following boxing as much as I once did, but this is a fight which has re-kindled my interest - the consummate boxer against the best pressure fighter around.

Both fighters are unbeaten with Mayweather perhaps having the edge in quality of opponent (although Kosta Tszyu may argue with that) and with Hatton having fought more times.

Personally, I think if it goes the distance, then Mayweather will win.
Hatton needs to stop him and it's difficult to see how he can do this, given Mayweathers boxing skills and ringcraft.
Let's not forget though that Hatton is also a very good boxer and had a glittering amateur career - a fighter doesn't win medals at world and ABA levels unless he can box.

I'd love for Hatton to win, he's from my home town (I was born just a couple of miles up the road) and he's a real down to earth, working class hero kind of bloke.
Unfortunately, I can't see it.
Yes he beat Tszyu, who was at that time regarded as one of the best pound for pound fighters, but Mayweather brings a different set of skills, not to mention his speed and movement.

If Hatton can get close he can hurt Mayweather, and hurt him badly - and this I feel is his only real chance.

For me, Mayweather on points.

Or Hatton to stop him by the ninth.

can't make my mind up!

I gave up on MMA and took up boxing. I just connect with it better. I can go trash some guy any day of the week, but there's an amazing amount of specific skill in boxing.

Hatton can take a beating and mayweather hasn't been known for his power. I can't wait to see how this ends up. I like both of them, though I'm with Hatton on this one!

I boxed when I was younger (amateur), and it's a great sport - I just kind of grew out of it, but this one has me enthralled.
Should be a cracker, especially if Hatton can get inside and rough him up.

He can take a few, that's for sure. That guy definitely knows the meaning of "take one to give one."

hatton by ko inside 5 for me

mayweather ducked tszyu like so many others, not hatton

hatton in his prime took an aging tszyu out, still no mean feat

not to get off topic, just an aside for the fans who may not have seen early tszyu, check this footage.it's tszyu winning the 91 amateur title.the guy he's fighting is no mug if you know the game

I've been watching some of Hattons fights, and I'd forgotten how devastating a body puncher he is.
Those hooks up into the short ribs are killer punches.

If he can get inside, I fancy him to take it.

I'd also forgotten just how mobile he is, with great lateral movement and punches coming from different angles.

I think Mayweather just may have his work cut out to win this one, Hatton just never stops coming, and he has the power to hurt.

Fingers crossed.

Amir Khan also fighting tomorrow night vs Graham Earl, commonwealth title bout - he should take it no problem as long as he doesn't hang his chin out again.

No way Hatton comes even close in this fight. This is the fight of Hatton's life so far so he'll be swinging without a doubt. Mayweather knows he can't sleepwalk through this guy and is going to be at his best. Too much speed and power for Hatton.

Mayweather wins by KO in 7 rounds or less.

I want to see Mayweather and Pacquiao go at it, but Pacquiao has to move up in weight I believe.

Peace

Dunno about the power - Hatton prettymuch walked through Tszyu, and he was a really heavy puncher.

If Mayweather wins, it'll be on points.

Pity we can't bet some points on the outcome!

No way Mayweather has the strength to knock Hatton out. In fact, I'd say the power lies with Hatton, and the speed is all Mayweathers. Also, Hatton can take more of a beating than mayweather.

Hatton is at 43-0 with 31 KO's
Mayweather 38-0 with 24 KO's

I'm excited for this fight.

I'm still ins on Hatton, but I have a feeling with Mayweather's speed he's going to rack up some points.

I've just noticed something.

Mayweather has a tendency to stick his chin out when he's under pressure and trying to get out of it by throwing those long punches in fast combinations.

He can also be hurt, and he ain't gonna like those body punches.

The Hitman could give the bodysnatcher lessons in short ribs punches.

OOOOO I'm getting excited

"No go" on the bet Budski (and I don't blame them), but how 'bout this, whoever loses has to add to their signature "I'm (Dr Love's or Budski's) red-headed stepchild" for a whole month?

Peace

Yeah, I didn't think it would happen.

A counter suggestion to spice things up and make the bet worthwhile.

Signature contains "I'm (Insert name)'s Bitch"

Got the nuts for it?

"A female dog" may be against T&C. If you clear it with management, sure I'll do it. If they say "no" we go with my suggestion.......deal?

I'm about to leave and I'm not sure if I'll be online tomorrow, so I'll just assume you accept. I got Mayweather, you got Hatton.

Peace

no on the female dog line.

Perhaps we can come up with something that won't, potentially, raise the ire of some of our members.
