YouTube shuts down Egyptian anti-torture activist's account

CAIRO, Egypt (CNN) -- An Egyptian human rights activist who posted videos about police abuse says YouTube has shut down his account because of complaints that the videos contain "inappropriate material."

This really isn't much of a shocker to me.

Youtube has a history of shutting down accounts containing anything that it doesn't like as well as resetting counters on anything that gets too popular which they feel shouldn't.

While I can understand the videos containing "inappropriate material", they are/were no worse than any of the many videos that are allowed to remain such as the vids of gangs attacking people and/or killing them, "bumfights" and other such material.

In fact, the videos posted by this guy were actually IMPORTANT, unlike the ones I mentioned above.


This, in my opinion, is nothing but ANOTHER effort on the part of the Google owned Youtube to censor anything they don't want seen by their users.
