I, like so many others are sick of what this forum has become. A joke if you will, whether its a light in the sky (usually the planat venus), a theory (
) , or some other crap that was produced via cgi.

If you can come up with a video like this, then damn, I am all over it. Until then, this forum is a waste of time and pure entertaintment.

In any case, I took this over my house a few weeks ago with my wife in the front yard and my two sons trailing behind. Now don't you just wish you had a video of a UFO in this fashion? NO one will ever come up with something like this that is legit. Period. Ever.

Adios, and yeah I know its not a UFO...

Every year the naval base (or is it airforce? whichever) by my parents' house has an air show. One year, the "new" stealth bomber flew in the show as a demonstration of the newest military technology.

That was a long time ago, but it looked exactly like the plane in that video.

I am not saying that's what it is, but I am saying that that's what it reminds me of.

Unless you were posting the video to just show what a clear video of an aircraft shoudl look like... if that's the case, then it's a really good video.

Yep. Thats the idea. F117 or so I am told by many a people. I am just so tired of the "dang I saw a ufo", or that there light is surely an aircraft not of Earth, I even have it on video... It takes this whole forum which is the ATS bread and butter down 10 notches.

Take care and thanks for watching.

GREAT FOOTAGE!!!

I live on an Air Force base and the back of my house faces the flightline.
I see jets all the time - every day....so, Im sort of immune to them. But dang when we have visiting jets....im outside pointing to the sky!!!

All we see on a reg basis are F16s, A10s, C130s and AWACS

We had F22s here a few weeks back...but I got no video

I'm sorry but I'm going to call CGI on that vide..so fake.
Screams CGI! and the voices too, someone needs to pay for their acting classes.

Nice shot Stockburn, very nice. Simply badass they are. Man I love the crap we can do, it really fuels my imagination re: what we arent being shown publically. Last time I saw one in person was a our local airshow pre-911 and it was stunning to watch fly - a work of art and engineering, intimidating.

And you are right about your contention as well. It is frustrating and teeters on boring at times but personally I am too compelled not to look, even through all of the garbage we see here. Once or twice a year though someone will bring something to us that will at minimum make me wonder or at least pause. Those posts usually get minimum ATS attention compred to some here, funny. I almost cant help looking tho, really.

Gotta remember tho, what its obvious to you or me may not be to others and/or may never be to others, willfully or not, no matter what side of the coin you are on - presenter or reviewer. As long as I can accept that, it does make it easier to deal with, most of the time. Some people either cant see what you see and how you see it or flat out wont/refuse to for whatever reason, go figure. Such as it is...

While many of you are busy with what the OP did right, how about a little objectivity. Pretend for a minute that you hadn't seen this plane anywhere before.

***The video shot was pretty uneven. I'm always amazed at how come people taping an unknown craft have trouble keeping the camera steady on the target.

The focus was in and out in several places, which makes the job of analyzing it much harder.

Since there are no references from the audio that this was an object in flight, this could have just as easy been a sound track from the local Christmas parade that was added later, in the hope that a child's voice would trick people into thinking this was real. This adding of engine sounds would also account for the too even audio.

The poster also anticipated the position of the object even when it went behind trees and buildings, which could be because he knew where he intended to place the object when he went to work in photoshop.

And the pixels around the object, on being blown up, give hints that this could have been painted in. There is not enough pixel distortion at the rear of the object where one would normally thing the propulsion unit would be, which deviates from the known exhaust patterns of aircraft.

The video is extremely short, and everyone who has studied these types of clips knows that is a sure sign of CGI.

And last, but not least, you'll notice that the poster shows no pictures of the children that were supposedly present, and is instead just randomly filming the sky when this object just happens to appear. The only movement, aside from his own whirling in a circle is the CGI object and a few birds.

Yes, a close look at this clip convincingly shows it to be a hoax.

***Now I was joking in a way with this, but there is a serious side as well. It is easy to tear a video up, no matter what it is. The whole idea is that if you start out thinking it's impossible, you can find areas to argue it away with. We see this here all the time. We see people bashing the poster over every minute detail, and questioning their motives and truthful.

I'm glad you posted this clip here, and even though you didn't intend it to, you have shown just how easy a real video of a UFO could, and maybe sometimes are, attacked and debunked with nothing more than words and bias.

Thank you.

So I fail to see the point in this thread. I understand you could be sick of the UFO' fakes that are out there. But as for me, I am sick of these types of threads that don't have a point but to kill the UFO enthusiasm.

I see this thread as just another UFO skepticism because people have a hard time producing authentic videos of UFO's.

So to me, the difference is that we see your Military Jet Video and it looks like a stealth bomber from the shape of the wings, and everyone knows what a Military Jet looks like because we see it on TV everyday and it's not shocker. So it must be authentic.

So now lets say someone can produce the same type of video of a disc, and it has no sound as it zips through the air.

Someone like yourself can post it in this forum and I can almost guarantee that there will be quite a few post that says "Hoax", "CGI" or the video was not quite clear enough.

Why?

Because people are not use to seeing these objects everyday on TV. When they do see them and want to post their video, they are afraid of a thread like this one making fun of their video footage that are called HOAX.

Now on the flip side to this, what ruins these videos is the true hoaxers that do stupid crap by trying to produce their own UFO videos as a joke. So from this stand point I empathize with you.

The only legit videos that are unexplainable is the NASA footages on STS-75, STS-120, STS-80 that could clearly be called UFO's?

That's my two cents.

Well, my point in this thread, which I didn't start, was to show just how easy it is to make a video look fake when you start working through every single possible fault.

I hope that what I did was clear on that.

I don't think it's a pointless thread. I think the threads where people claim to be an alien being from wherever, or some angel who gets on the internet to lecture people, or where someone has an obviously fake spaceship are pointless.

I am very interested in seeing pictures and videos of UFOs, and also in following discussions on alien life. But there are so many ridiculous stories and faked pictures and videos out there, that 9 times out of 10 I feel like I am wasting my time even clicking.

I understand exactly what the point of the thread is, and I agree 100%. That video might not be the best video ever shot of a fighter jet, but it is still better than most of what people post on the internet. I don't expect a UFO video to be perfect, but I expect it to show something and not be a fake.

OH, I agree wholeheartedly. I wish there never was a fake one. But I still look, because just as sure as I don't, the real one will come along while I'm over in a corner pouting over all the bad ones.

And just because a video isn't 100% great, doesn't mean it isn't true. Imagine how shocked and scared and overwhelmed someone might be during a real close encounter? And just because it's night, should they take a bashing because the UFO was so mean as to not show up at a better time for lighting purposes?

No, we either take what we can get, or not bother looking at any of them.

Awesome video. Hard to debunk it! It is more credible than any UFO video I've ever seen.

Do you see what I mean? Now we're discussing this like there is some real question on the matter, even though I stated that I was using the OPs video to show how debunking could work.

But it is just this easy to stir up controversy, and whether the video is real or not, in a little while we're choosing up sides.

I don't doubt that the video is real, and I'm NOT calling the OP a hoaxer.

*sigh* Maybe this would be funnier if I just let this blow up into a full fledged discussion of the OP trying to hoax us with a fake jet using CGI. I'll bet in a while we could have 4-5 on each viewpoint. All of which proves my point.

I hope thats sarcasm. The video is real and was taken in my front yard. My two kids are right behind me and the only person that can be seen in the video is my wife for a few seconds. You can hear my two kids, one grunting and the other pestering me.
My wife even states she was going to call dad to see if he could see it. He lives 2 miles away.

One thing that you have to remember, this thing came out of nowhere, I heard a distant jet that didn't sound normal, ran to my jeep where I always keep my camcorder because I video tape my 4 wheel adventures, by the time, I got the camera going it was real close, this thing was jamming so fast I only had a few seconds of video to capture it as it went over head. I couldn't even make it out when it was going behind my house to the left.

I take it you don't think the crows are real either?

You got something coming for you then. Wait and see!

But like all good things, it takes time.

If all goes well, 2008 will be The Year! What's coming out can't be stopped. 2008 is gonna be a good year to be alive. Wait and see!

It would indeed be cool to see what the miracle workers with good eyes and good video skills can tear apart on this.

I welcome the idea for sure.

Take care,

Thank you for seeing merit in what I did. I'm glad you didn't take offense, even though as a debunker, you're one of those that helps tear up the information as fast as it's presented.

It's a lot harder to honestly "sit on the fence" than most people realize. Our natural inclination is to make a quick judgment on things. (Homo Erectus and his survival needs, I guess.) It's hard to wait for enough information is available before reaching a decision. It's harder still to not allow a bias to intrude right from the start. But if we don't practice such things, we never learn new items, or refine old news.Instead, we are always working on instinct, which is no different than the way a crow or a snail gets through life.

I'm glad you made this thread.

I would agree with his point...IF the F-117 STOPPED in midflight, then REVERSED direction, shooting away at tremendous speed,... then he would have a legitimate point to be made...

Anyone can post an example of what IS NOT a UFO...

Yes, but anyone can also debunk any video, provided the viewer doesn't know what the object is. This was what I wanted to show. If something is of an unfamiliar shape, then the debunkers come in with just the same arguments I used to "prove" it can't be real.

In this video, we are sure it's real, because we recognize it from it's shape and sound. But to someone that had never seen a modern aircraft, it would be a UFO. And UFOs are routinely debunked on no more basis than I used here.

I wanted to show that the methods used to debunk videos are just as open to being wrong as the statements of wide eyed true believers.
