I watched it and while I do enjoy it, several parts in each show seem staged. Annoying really, if I watch haunting shows then I usually watch Ghosthunters and Most Haunted.

I caught the first couple of episodes aswell. The only thing I would complain about is how quickly they let events develop. It almost felt as if they weren't allowing you to make your own judgements or opinions. On the other side, I suppose that's what you get for trying to solve a case within a 30 minute time slot!

I won't be watching anymore, but from what I read on Wikipedia it seems to be very popular.

I caught the 'Pet Cemetery' show the other night and thought it was quite interesting.

All else aside... the fact they could trace back to at least 'four' dogs being hit by cars in the same area, which isn't usually frequented by cars, seems to raise an eyebrow.

Could they have researched this information before taking on the case... quite possible, although I don't know where your would go for this kind of information. (Dog Obituary??).

None the less, the show is still keeping me entertained, but as mentioned, I would like to see a whole hour devoted to one case, the boring mundane stuff as well.

The shows they advertise don't always seem to be the ones they televise so I have no idea what will be on tonight.

It is what it is and that all. I don't really think they are expecting to become some world renown extravaganza. Just a little wild entertainment packed into a short time frame.

I think we all have pretty much figured out that we should just take it for what it is.

Ya its seems over dramatic, and there is a for sure catholic feel to it, i mean its more about christianity than entity's dont ya think, how they think that a prayer will solve everything, but the one with the little boy was kinda creepy...bye the way i am nestorian

I dvr this show every week and watch most episodes ( I think I've missed a few because of the time slot variances, sometimes they show a second episode after the first and my dvr doesnt record the second one). The last one they did was on the Mothman. They did see a red light of some sort while being near the Silver Bridge area (the bridge that collapsed and killed 46 people shortly after the first viewings of the mothman in the Point Pleasant, WV area. I love this show and even said to my husband the other night that I was surprised I hadn't seen a thread about it on here. It was my delight to find one here today! Its definitely entertaining and I enjoy the show a lot. I dont know how serious to take it but some of their 'evidence' does point to otherworldly beings but of course who knows if the evidence proves that, it 's just what I think. Even my husband enjoyed the show and he's a HUGE skeptic about anything related to ghosts and spirits.

I've seen a few episodes, and I am very inclined to believe that a large portion of the show is staged. That guy Chip is awesome, but I feel like he may just be an actor.

Yeah, I was thinking he may be an actor of sorts as welll.

He does add a bit of drama to the show, but is a likeable guy.

Had to skip over the above post regarding the Mothman episode. Have it at home and haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Probably bites, but I enjoy all that stuff regardless.

Well of course he does....

He has his own website.

Don't have time now to read everything on there, but does look somewhat respectable.

(didn't know he has heritage in the paranormal game, interesting)

Well now! Thanks Grail!

It would seem that something is amiss here!

How in the world would the expect that doing a "cleansing" via the Bible would work when they employ a self described Clairvoyant, etc..., etc...

I'm not going to go get the exact scripture right now but as a Christian I know for a fact that to associate with anything occult is a big no no!

Kinda gives me the impression that the last few posts are on track about it being staged....

exactly JBondo, clairvoyants and that pagan girl do not go with the catholic overtones of the show!!!now I feel they think they are just covering all the bases, you cant have it all, if you are a christian(catholic) you can not believe in the oculltways of heeling

IF anyone could get in contact with Chip, I think he would be a great addition to ATS! From the looks of his site, it seems that he likes to get paid for his services, but everyone needs to make a living somehow.

I can't seem to find an email address for him, maybe ill try to contact him through myspace.

I just sent Chip Coffey a myspace message about ATS. I told him we are in need of an expert in the paranormal field. I really hope he gets back to me. Ill let you guys know if he ever does.

Honestly, I feel that this show is pretty legitamate. For several reasons. 1. There research group acctualy exists and is endorsed by penn state, I can see no reason why a prestigious school would want to soil there name but having a fake t.v show about the parnormal, i mean sure it might be a good endorsment and earn the school extra money, but really what gain would they have? 2. Lorraine Warren has appeared on the show, her and her late husband Ed are know to be some of the very top researchers in paranormal and demonic studies, I have a feeling that if the show was fake, she wouldnt have any part of it. Also regarding previous posts, there psychic Mr.Coffee is not a 'fruit loop' he is married, he has stated it in an episode of the other A&E show "Psychic Kids" and in regards to Christianity saying you shouldnt have anything to do with the occult.....I myself am cathloic and a paranormal investigator, I have had conversations with a few priests about 'if its ok to study paranormal phenomonon' and they say its perfectly fine as long as you dont let it consume you, meaning dont get to wraped up in it, lead a normal life along with doing this research. The cathloic church saying 'dont study the paranormal' would almost be like saying 'dont study physics or biology' because at one point or the other in history all modern science would have seemed 'paranormal' to them because they didnt understand it. Also, the cathloic church authorizes acctual exorcisims, which means to some extenet it deals with demonic possesions and has to belive in demons and such. I would image when they say 'dont deal in the ways of the occult' they mean dont worship other pagan gods or practic satanic rituals and or witchcraft. One more note, I would say that the show has some christian over tones, but when they give prayer cards to the people, or say prayers, that is their protection, like if a witch would do a ritiual, or a native america would burn sage to purifiy the area, in a sence it protects them and they know that what ever they have put there faith in will protect them, and a strong will or belife is a good defence againts negative spirits/entitys.
Hahaa, sry for that long winded paragraph, but those are my thoughts.

The thing that gets me about these guys is that it started off a little campy, but it has gotten better through the season. Also, outside of a few little evp's and suspicious behavior, they have not even come close to the evidence that The Ghost Hunters have captured. This leads me to believe that it is a more entertaining type show, but I still dig it. Oh yeah, Chip is pretty damn cool too. Love to have a beer with that guy, actor or not.
That show about the dead dogs was definately the most freaky one for me. Figured I'd post because I'm watching the marathon on A&E.

P.S. It would be cool if we could get Chip on ATS, the guy is pretty knowledegeable.

Tonight was the first time seeing the show, and I have to say I was impressed. There was one part that I felt was obviously staged and that was the noises. It was like the microphones couldnt pick up the noises so they had to insert them into the show. But other then that it was good.

I particularly enjoyed the Bar episode where the psycologist was speaking with the bar owner when all of a sudden a glass broke off camera, and he wasnt even suprised by it at all, like it was a normal occurence but the psycologist was freakin out and wouldnt enter the bar again.

This show is turning into a BS show like monday night football. Too many cheesy phrases, and it makes the paranormal look like complete B.S.

I have been watching Paranormal State for sometime now here in the United States and I actually do find the show very interesting it has it's good points although anything paranormal is up my alley. I think as the show progresses it will get better it has what you would say "good bones". I am still very much a avid fan of TAPs and GHI I find them more seasoned and better equipped when it comes to a investigation. I would love to see a full channel devoted to paranormal activity
something to look forward to ... PEACE

I think that the show is staged, they hardly had any evidence in The Dark Man episode, besides a motion detector that went off. In the same episode, they had a medium (I think that’s what it’s called?) and she told the mother what her son was supposedly saying. Now, I guess there could be some people who could actually speak with the dead, but what she told her -over the phone- could have easily been said, or told beforehand to her. Could this even be done over the phone? Don’t you have to be in the place where he ‘supposedly’ contained to speak with him? Then again, I don’t know much about speaking to ghosts, maybe I’m wrong?

I just got into Paranormal State recently and one thing that seriously bugs me assuming that the show is legit is how it seems that all the ghosts, evil entities, demons, etc disappear after the Paranormal crew shows up. Has anyone seen the episode with the guy from Pennsylvania who they believed was being terrorized by a demon, the guy even went as far as to say the Demon was telling him to kill his family. I would have a hard time believing that if there was a demon that it would just go away after one exorcism.
