Is this a paranormal experience? Freaky...

Some of you may remember that I don't believe in the paranormal, but I did in fact try 2 times to conjure demons (recorded once, and thrown up here on ATS) and have tried a few times to play with an Ouija (no results, that I believe), and had my older son say some weird stuff (also up here with video), but I still keep an open mind. I rely on facts alone. So take this however you wish. My writing skills are lacking, I am sure, so bear with me.

I have a fairly large chandelier maybe 3 or 3.5 foot across hanging above the front door. Right near the front door is the stairs that leads to 4 bedrooms, two of which are my sons, one my office, and last is the master bedroom for my wife and I. This chandelier we got a few years ago from an estate sale, and it's HEAVY. It is solid brass and weighs a lot, doesn't look old tho, because there are fake plastic candle holders for the lights. I took some pictures of this chandelier, and to my surprise it actually has a face on it, several times around the structure. Images below.

Around 2PM, was going outside to catch a quick smoke, the front door is darn directly beneath the chandelier, and I noticed one light blinking/pulsating maybe once a second. The chandelier has maybe 8 or 10 lights, didn't count. In any case, only one light was pulsating, this went on for maybe 30 or 45 seconds that I noticed, when I then noticed my dog standing erect, down at the base of the stair case but she was intently staring straight up the stairs at the hallway area (not the chandelier). I try to budge her by nudging/light kicking her hind area with my foot/leg for a good 60 seconds and saying "Crick come on, Crick come on), even my younger son (1.5 years old) was lightly thumping her in the head/face with his palm. She absolutely would not take her eyes from the top of the stair case hallway. I finally had to use a forceful voice for her to get up and go outside with us. Which is unusual, as she is a border collie and always loves to play.

I didn't think much of it, until I told my wife about it. She is kinda freaky about these things.

I have verified the lights in the chandelier are still working properly and none have burned out nor have I ever witnessed this type of behavior in a fixture. I decided to take pictures for this message, and when I walked up the stair case a different light produced the same effect, pulsating slowly, then eventually fully illuminating. This lasted less than 20 seconds. Needless to say the chandelier is now off.

Picture of chandelier close up with faces (yep thats dust there kids)

Anyone have any thoughts?

Take care and have a great night.

As an Electrical Engineer, I must say there is a chance of there being an intermittant fault on something in the chandelier. I can't tell what is inside it from the pics you posted, but some aren't all that "simple" as far as lighting circuits go. Does it have any dimmer control ?

I have seen lights do similar things before, usually in something other than a bayonet or screw cap bulb fixture.

Of course, the chandelier may have just a terminal block setup in which case this would be very strange, as what happens to one bulb should happen to all three (when something affects the circuit other than the bulbs).

The first time it was a higher one on the left, 2nd time it was the far right hand light.

Why did I try and conjure demons? To search for the truth if they exist. So far no luck, atleast not in the physical form or even aparition form.

Adjay:

Yes, that chandelier is on a dimmer switch. Seems to work fine from little light all the way up to max brightness. The switch was on max brightness when both of these happened.

That still doesn't address my dog staring up the stairs case, but I guess I am dealing with an animal and anything could be possible. Just never seen her react or lack of reeasction to be nudging her.

Take care,

This is nothing really that suprising. Have you ever thought that it may be a family member or someone's spiritual entity visiting? Babies and animals can sense things easier than most humans.

I had an experience over thanksgiving that was the strongest presence I have ever felt. I was at my mother's house, which has alot of good activity, with her and her cousin, my grandfather's favorite nephew. I was the first born grandaughter, born a month after my grandfather passed. He wanted a grandaughter very badly. We were all downstairs around the fire talking and there was a warm thick field behind and above me. A minute later I turned around expecting to look at someone I wanted to see so bad but I felt it. Then it hugged me from behind like a father does. I knew who it was because my grandfather visits me often. I started sobbing. Later that night, my mom's cousin, who is completely skeptical to anything of the sort, came upstairs sobbing because he said he saw a rose appear to him from above. His mother, my grandfather's sister, passed away and very much adores sister theresa and her rose symbols. He couldn't believe it and knew who it was. You can't explain those incidents because they are felt. Tiny gifts.

Maybe not a good idea. Lets say it did work for you, in some form, by some accident. What would you do with the visitor? Would one want to invite an eveil entitity into his home, just to see if it existed? Would you invete a serial killer in your home, to see if he really was one?

What protection did you arrange before you tried this?

I read your post and was just going to say the same thing as Adjay, that there could be something inside the light or the switch that could cause that(btw beautiful chandelier). On the other side of it animals do tend to sense a great many things that people do not, one thing to look at in this situation is if your dog is normally obedient or not, you would be the best to judge whether this is a normal behavior for her or not, I am guessing that it isn't otherwise you wouldn't have felt it important to your story. The two things I would suggest to do for right now is one keep a mental note on how often your dog demonstrates this behavior, and compare it to how she acts to other situations where this would be normal for her you know like when someone is walking down the street or when she hears a familiar car come down the road, also to keep a note on how she progresses if these things do continue, like if she goes from a neutral stance to an agressive one showing she is uncomfortable with it or a more passive one showing that she is more comfortable with it.

Second when you have time possibly bringing the light down and checking the circiuts inside the lamp. Which you should be able to with a multimeter without to much trouble. Also keep a casual eye on your other electronic things. I know this isn't the case with you, in all of your previous posts have done nothing but keep a definative mind to the very real and normal answers first but, One of the things alot of do that is so very frustrating is not pay attention to their surroundings and don't know what is normal and what is not. so the first time they notice something like a flickering light they automatically assume it must be paranormal.
