My first thread and my name is Dan.

I put this thread in skunk because I thought it would be put there by the mods anyway. If there is a better forum, please move there.

I'm not as intelligent as most on here. My life is very plain but I wanted to ask the question "Why is the truth so hard to find?"

I'm not a good debater because my mind is so open. If you want to post on this thread please just answer the question and not attack me.

Well, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that there are far too many groups, organizations, religions, et cetera, who claim to have the "truth." It is easy to get lost in the mele.

In all truthfulness, I don't think any individual, group, organization or religion has or ever will have the COMPLETE truth. I think there are bits and pieces of it everywhere, but, for the 50% truth, there is 50% percent disinformation or outright lies. That is what gets people into trouble.

Any group that claims to be "holders of the truth" are probably the type of group wich you might want to steer clear of.. That's about 98% of all of the political-religious organizations in existence.. So..

Thank you SpeakerofTruth for your reply.

I spend a lot of my free time looking for truth here on ATS. The things that I watch is 9/11, moon mining & NWO and some others. I have thought about what you said in your post before and see it to be true.

The "truth" is hard to find because it is so subjective. I may accept the existence of God as "truth" but you may not. So is my truth more true than yours? Your question throws up all kinds of philosophical issues but it all boils down to, "what is the truth FOR ME?"

Hopefully we will one day come up with a universal truth from which we can all base our own versions of truth on, until that day, the "truth" will never be known.

Very well said. Perhaps our minds define truth for us. I have often thought our minds contain many common beliefs.

Well PW229 or whatever your name was, as for the universal truth, it can never actually be known since we all have different beliefs in which the truth is so the universal truth can never actually be known.

The truth is hard to find because by nature truth isn't what people want to hear, so they don't repeat it, and don't believe it.

Post a thread expressing how there's no grand consparicy, and that the aliens aren't looking to probe you, and it will be quickly chopped up and flushed away, event if it is the upmost truth.

People want to believe lies.

That's why ATS is so full of lies.

I never knew above top secrets are lies.

There's only one place to find the truth. The truth runs within everyone, and it can be accessed as soon as one strips away all biases from their perceptions. Too many have self-serving biases.

They believe they would make a great leader. They believe they are being held down or back from this, they don't know what's holding them back, so they point their fat little fingers at groups of men and cry that the "wrongs" are great consparicies againt any group they themselves associate with.

And they do that for one reason. They do it because it's easier then facing the truth.

Aerial view, i know what you mean, i think. It's that everyone seems to be screaming ''My god is better than you god''. Well I don't claim to have the answer but i think it's within. You are your god , make of this what you will.
Good luck in your search

Well... words are cheap and a pictrue paints a thousand words. Perhaps someday we can communicate without words and pictures.

I wish peace for all through truth.

I think the truth is very easy to find this day in age, but we are incapable of accepting it as truth because we have been lied to ALOT. However, when we hear the truth, we know it's the truth. That's the only way to find it. If you use critical thinking, think for yourself, and still find an idea to ring true with you, damn what anyone else says, it is probably the truth.

The biggest reason that truth is made to seem like a phantom is because we are lied to in such a constant capacity that our brains are re-wired. The truth ends up being a vague idea that doesn't seem to fit with the lies, but still feels undeniable to our inner-knowing. The truth is something that has become totally obscure because there has been such a huge cultivation of lies.

The truth will still, no matter what, feel right when you hear it. In that regard, I don't think it's hard to find at all, it is often times harder to accept.

Don't beat yourself up! Intelligence comes in many forms, and here on ATS I feel the ability to think for yourself is the most important one.

You ask a very broad question, which can't be answered easily.

Certainly, the amount of misinformation and hoaxing out there (whether intentional or not) makes it difficult to find "the truth." Look around the Aliens/UFO forum for instance - There's been a pretty funny (in my opinion) controversy over "F.A.S.T." and some people intentionally hoaxing pictures of "spaceships" to gain attention.

A few years ago I felt I could sense the truth. But now the sense is alluding me.

Why is the truth so hard to find?
This reminds me of a quote from Mark Twain.

"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. "

This is especially true today with the internet.

Thats my problem. Now I always suspect a lie preceds the truth.

I was told so often that UFO's weren't real. That people were lying about seeing them. That all the videos and photographs were fake (and man, there are alot.)

Then I saw UFO's. Suddenly, that lie of UFO's not being real was shattered. And I felt closer to the truth.

What next? Well I read alot on UFO's and learned that they are either Extra Terrestrial, Extra Dimensional, or Government owned -
I now believe they are all three. The Government knows about extra-dimensional travel and it has come into contact with extra terrestrials, all three agendas are in play with the UFO.

So you see that even discovering one aspect of the truth is going to lead you through a trench of lies and disinformation, because form every corner, there are people saying that UFO's are aliens and nothing but, or that they are government and nothing but. Neither seems to be the truth about the truth.

I agree with you.

I think its so hard because there is enough [so called] evidence on both sides of fence (topic) to support each side.

So in the end, we just have to choose what we believe from whom and from where. I guess TRUTH is in the eye of the beholder.

Good first post!

OK. I believe intelligent life exists elsewhere in our wonderful universe but I don't know it to be true.

Why is the truth so hard to find?

Because we expect someone else to provide it for us?

Sad, but we seldom trust ourselves.

When someone posts-up here proclaiming to have thee answers for others...hidden knowledge, a connection to the hierarchy, or whatever...the threads literally blow-up. Happens a-lot lately.

I can ask the same question of ten different people & get ten different truths.....might as well start learning to develop & trust my own.

Your initial post was really refreshing Dan. Please don't confuse academic experience, sarcastic witticism, or perfect diction & grammer...with intelligence.

Welcome

I use my eyes and ears for truth seeking, as well as smell, taste & touch to keep me alive.

I am glad I found ATS.
