New Bin Laden Tape Released

Cairo, Egypt (AHN) - In a new audiotape that was broadcast Thursday on al-Jazeera, Osama bin Laden urged Europeans to stop helping the U.S. in the war in Afghanistan. Bin Laden said the United States was wrong to have invaded Afghanistan for harboring him following the 9/11 attacks.

Bin Laden insisted in the audiotape that he was the only one responsible for the attacks and America's "retaliation" against Afghanistan was unjustified. A counterterrorism official said the voice appears to be that of bin Laden, but it is not known when the voice was recorded.
