War games foreshadow Iraq conflict

Dec. 9 � With some 60,000 U.S. troops now within striking distance of Iraq, the U.S. military started training exercises Monday to test preparedness for an invasion � and to underline the seriousness of the U.S. threat to Baghdad if it doesn�t disarm. The number of troops in position is set to quadruple by early 2003. And, in addition to the heavy weaponry moving into the region for a possible conflict, NBC has learned that the U.S. military has pre-positioned munitions and equipment at three secret locations in Israel.
