SourceMr Chavez kicked off the summit with a blistering attack on the US.
"If the United States was mad enough to attack Iran or aggress Venezuela again the price of a barrel of oil could reach $150 or even $200," he said.

So basically we attack Iran, oil will go up. And that means gas prices could go up to $5.00 a gallon or more, and of course WWIII, and Venezuela will be against us, along with the rest of the world. I guess everyone is looking for an excuse to attack us/U.S. aye?

I never would have thought I would ever quote the King of Spain...but here goes...

"Shut up, Hugo!"

If America opened up the 82% of our coast line that is off limits to drilling, we would never have to rely on foreign oil again. But the envirowhackos won't let that happen.

yeah, some of us care about the long term instead of the short term...

and good for chavez, finally someone has something that can stop our cowboy politics of attacking people for no reason at all...
if we attack we do so in direct contradiction of the IAEA reports
in direct violation of international law... again.

chavez would have every right do it.

What "some of you" fail to realize is that utilizing our own oil is not only a short term plan. We have enough oil we could drill in our own country to last us 80, maybe 100 years. This would buy us plenty of time to be developing the technologies to rid our dependence on oil all together.

As long as we are dependent on oil, we have no reason to look for a true alternative. If we pull out of other countries for oil, we will have given ourselves a time line with which to develop this technology. If we as a country knew we only had 80 years of energy left, you better believe we would be working a lot harder to become energy independent.

Another point I might add is this. Why should we be wasting money and resources mining and shipping foreign oil when we have our own? Should we not be using our own countries resources instead of using up the rest of the worlds?

So what did this wanna-be Castro say now... Sounds like saber rattling.

If Venezula wants to dance with the US, Chavez will be dead within a week, and the people of Venezuela will rejoice.

War is a nasty nasty thing. But if that socilist phsyco wants it...

WWIII is on the horizon.

Everything is on the bubble.

A year from now, we might not recoginize the world we live in.

i wasn't talking about oil here, i was talking about harm to the environment. i care a bit more about the environment than i do about feeding our lust for oil for another century.

we need to protect the environment, as we are part of it. damaging it is damaging ourselves.
