it is true that America is to blame. but also mexico. it's both nations at fault. American for hiring them and Mexicans for giving up on their own republic. Mexico would be a greater place if the people stayed down there. but they see all of this stuff on TV and how great america is that they want to come here. I know people in Mexico that are very americanized and they only buy the american clothing and european cars. they are forced to come here as they are not treated fairly in mexico. solution? build higher cement walls all around the southern borders. this in turn will force the mexicans to stay in mexico and create more labor laws and fair working practices. the US has to force mexicans to stay in mexico and better themselves..only then, will mexico learn how to financially grow. Also, get those darn companies out of mexico and bring them back.

but trade fairly with mexico and other countries. I still rather have all one world people, but that's something I dont see happening.

Here in Australia we have 20 odd million people total. Thats with a land mass pretty much the size of America's. I cant even begin to imagine how packed the cities must be. 40 million immigrants is double our whole population! sheeesh

Mexicans don't want us gringos down in Mexico, why should we be friendly to them coming up to the U.S.. If I had been born in Mexico, first chance I got, I would have headed for the Northern border, I understand why they want to come here. I like latin culture, and I don't blame them for wanting to come here, but at the same time, they don't want us buying land down in Mexico, and they are as prejudiced against us as we are against them, if not more so.

Well, many retirees would like to be able to go south and buy land, but we can't buy land in Mexico, only obtain long term leases, and that is garbage. Our government should demand compromises from the Mexican government in exchange for open immigration policy. Unions should be defended in Mexico, and worker rights established. It is either we stop illegal immigration, and demand changes in Mexico for opening our borders, or we sacrifice our own standards of living, and our own liberties. Either we push Mexico to become more like us, or we will become more like them, or we close our borders.

That's a false statement. My nephew and I just went to mexico on friday night. He's a full faced gringo as you call it. he managed to meet a mexican lady and get her phone number. today he called and they are dating.

All you people with opinions really can't imagine the scope of this problem unless you live in a town that has been completely overrun by illegals as your mayor and city council stand by and let it happen. You have no idea the problems this creates. My next door neighbor constantly having people coming and going stealing my parking spot and dropping trash all over my yard. Gang members and thugs hanging out on corners, day laborers hanging out at the 7-11 looking for work and cat calling women as they relieve themselves on the side of the building. The entire DC area is inundated with illegals and many counties are FINALLY starting to take action and enact resolutions to weed these people out.

Prince William County where I live has enacted one of the strictest measures in the country to deal with this problem but it is still too early in the game and hasn't been fully instituted yet. It remains to be seen if they will actually enforce it as strictly as planned. Loudoun County next door is also starting to take steps but Fairfax County remains a sanctuary area as the chairman of the supervisors Gerry Connelly has said and I quote, "we are not rolling up the red carpet for illegals" - his words.

There are at least 30-40 million illegals in this country regardless of the fake numbers you see being released by the government. I would never believe a single statistic coming from those clowns. If they released the actual numbers then it would horrify Americans. There are 12 million illegals alone easily in the mid atlantic region of the US. This WILL lead to a civil war in the next decade if left unchecked. Americans better wake up. Don't say you weren't warned.

It's called the reclamation of Aztlan. We've been here for millenia and they call it an invasion. Call it what you want, Chicanos are here to stay. At the turn of the last century, Italians and Irish immigrants were blamed for all of Americas social ills. Now, in the 21st century, the Mexican is the latest boogy man. I don't think any one has forgot about "native americans" I think it's long past time to drop the hyphins however. These special tags givin to groups only serve to devide all americans. "Eropean American", African American","Asian American", "Latino American" it's all just serves to devide us. Can't we just be Americans. In america no one is responsible for the wrongs of there fathers. As in, I as a white am certainly no more responsible for slavery in the americas (started by the spanish) than a black man is reponsible for the moors that invaded and inslaved europeans for 800 years. it's time to get past group think and understand that if individual rights are the basis of all rights!

Much of the legal NAU/SPP verbiage can be found embedded in Senate Bills, even the hotly contested S. 1348 "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill" that failed earlier this year.

It is not the obligation of U.S. citizens, nor the obligation of America, to provide American benefits and opportunities to criminals who have entered into and live in America as ILLEGAL ALIENS. Even ILLEGAL ALIENS must learn to accept consequences for their actions. After all, we American citizens do -- we have a lawful society that punishes criminals.

The average Latino/Chicano is every bit as native Indian as the average white person in the U.S.. Does anyone see Chicanos standing up for the Zapatistas? Latinos will give the speech about how evil whites are, but they never protest the Spanish conquistadors that control Latin America to this day.

If you are a Native American from South America, then you should be down in Latin America fighting against the ancestors of the Spanish Conquistadors that rule Latin America to this day, instead of crying about how evil whites are. What the Spanish did is far worse than what white did in N. America. Most Whites just wanted to migrate to a new land. Apparently migration is fine, unless you are white.

One of the main reasons that the US Government wants to allow an "amnesty" is because of our Federal entitlement programs.

According to the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, the Social Security system, which currently runs at a substantial surplus, will come under strain in the next century and go into bankruptcy in 2029 because of massive payments to the baby boom generation.

Medicare faces a more pressing crisis, with its insolvency projected in just seven years. Instead of reducing benefits or raising taxes, expanding the number of workers contributing to entitlement funds, may resolve the long-term imbalances. This objective cannot be achieved through native demography alone.

Again, more immigration is the solution. Because past studies have shown that immigrants arriving in the U.S. tend to be youthful and healthy, they demand less from Social Security and Medicare than do native-born citizens. At least at this point they do not require these entitlements.
