I mean he's not even fully developed yet, and could've suffered some kind of trauma which helped make him that way.

I understand your point, and I respect your opinion.

However, I am so sick and tired of people using "past trauma" as an excuse! I understand how suffering some extremely awful trauma might affect a person in the future, but there are so many people who have had terrible experiences and yet do not commit crimes at all.

In my opinion, anyone who has such horrible impulse control problems does not need to be loose in society. I just can't help but imagine how that poor little girl felt when all of this was happening... her pain and her fear. Only a heartless, evil person is capable of such an act.

I am so with you there.

Everyone has an excuse. They are real easy to find. However, personal responsibility os extremely lacking in today's society. A famous quote that I have always liked by the notorious Charles Manson is this: "When I was arrested, they said that I was crazy. Of course, that was when that meant something."

I´ll admit, when I first heard about this story, I was shocked. But after reading in detail what happened, I say good riddence.

It´s sad that a fifteen year old boy will have to sit in prison for sixty years, but isn´t it better he be locked up safe behind bars then out on the streets being a sexual predator or murderer or worse?

I wish I believed that "rehab" helped everyone, it´s just not so. I do believe that the prison term should be set for sixty years, but I also believe that he should get the help he needs while in jail. Maybe some day he can be released with an education and with an understanding of what he did and how it ruined another little girls life.

But I wouldn´t know, I´m only giving my best guess.

Just glad he didn´t get away with it only to do it again.
