Apologies if this has been discussed already but is it just me or has all this disclosure and mainstream reporting of UFO's been gaining momentum and building up to something?

It seems like when one of the guys in the Ghostbusters said "has anyone cosidered that this all seems to be leading up to something?" That's the same impression I get.

Is it just me? Is it old hat?

I wouldn't say it would lead to a disclosure yet. I remember a time during the 90's when on every channel in Europe they would show a documentary and footage of UFO sightings and abductions. It was a real phenomenon everybody aknowledged.

Around 2000, when all the focus went towards the Y2K, the UFO phenomenon almost died out in the public eye. Then, 9/11 happened and the conspiracy box was opened and with the increase of internet access and activity, the UFO phenomenon had been brought back into the public eye as we are now experiencing.

Of course, now we have these retiring government officials to back up our claims, which brings the "disclosure" onto a whole new level.

But to be honest, I don't think we'll get farther than we did 10 years ago, unless something really big happens that will surpass the world-wide shock of 9/11.

Imagine a Close Encounters of The Third Kind contact scenario!

Meh, the government would probably try to mace them out of the sky and then tazer you for trying to look...

A study from last year came to the conclusion that the media would keep people interested in a first contact scenario for approximately 6 months and then everyone would lose interest...

It never fails every time there is any UFO related dribble in the news people come on here and thnk that it's "building up to something". Time after time, research the board and you will see people saying the same thing for years.

It's not leading up to anything, trust me. The public is already conditioned for the government to confirm there are aliens.....especially the younger generation. There is nothing else Hollywood needs to do. If it was going to happen, it would have by now.

I would assume that the government has nothing substantial to disclose. Probably nothing but blurry pictures, shaky video, useless eyewitness accounts...the same thing other countries have disclosed (england, france). Maybe, just maybe there is nothing to this other than overactive imaginations and fanciful thinking.

Don't talk to me like I'm a mega noob, buddy.

I've been following this stuff for a while and though I haven't posted much, I don't go flying off the handle and go UFO crazy when I see a whole bunch of blurry blue dots on a black background being repeatedly shown on the news.

I haven't been abducted, and I don't get transmissions from the CIA coming through my fillings. I just felt that media coverage of UFO's and "are we alone?" discussions, was more than usual (which is usually non-existent).

Sorry you took offense to my post, perhaps I phrased what I wanted to say incorrectly and gave you the wrong impression.

No worries!

I know exactly what you are saying though...

Respect.

Check it out, here's another one with the same line of thought:

I sure do wish it was all adding up to something, but I think not.

The answer is yes,

All of this Disclosure is eventually going to lead into something more. Remember, history repeats itself, and not only that but it's time. It's been too long since we've had a recap on aliens and Ufos and this is the best time to do it. Now, knowing that the news is mainly sold out for propaganda, I would say they might be up to Project Bluebeam, a fake alien invasion. Or, this just may be it. Regardless of the other conspiracy theories, what we have on our hands is huge and this is only just the beginning. We will see more of this, guaranteed. We will see extraterrestrials but first we will see UFOS. I'm not trying to be a prophet or anything I've had dreams and visions of this happening, it's going to happen for sure.
Hostile? I think so.
