It's legit. Bush talked a good game on the campaign trail for the '00 election. Along with the lie about disclosing UFO info, he's on the record with a Texas newspaper saying he believes medical cannabis is a states rights issue. And then as president, he classifies more govt info than ever and sends AG Ashcroft against sick people in California.

Sure he did, but so did Carter and so did Clinton. Ford was also interested and even managed to hold some limited hearings when he was in the House of Representatives. I think all these guys were serious, too. It's just that they get stonewalled once they get 'in power.' For an ntrenched civil service and military bureaucracy, it's easy to defy a request like that.
