Study: Curvy hips lure men to smart women

A study of 16,000 women determined those with hourglass figures were more intelligent than their counterparts with round or straight bodies, The Sunday Times of London reported.

Curvier women also tended to have more intelligent children, possibly because omega3 fatty acids are stored in their hips, the British newspaper said. Skinny women, or those whose fat deposits are around their waists do not have such deposits.

Interesting, if not controversial news. I always thought the attraction was mainly because of aesthetics and hype. What do I mean by hype? Well, wasn't it thought that prehistoric men were attracted to big mommas? Those fat Venus figurines come to mind.

In cases like this, I believe in the old scientific maxim that correlation does not equal causation. There could be other factors in play. I mean it's possible that the curvier women were found to be smarter not because they were curvier, but because they were smart enough to watch their weight. It's possible, don't you think so?

Yeah, that seems rather odd to me. I'm not curvy in the right places and I've been told I'm smarter than the average bear. But then, my body shape has been changed by my meds, so it's possible that the weight on my waist is actually from my hips, it just migrated.

It's a shame that meds messes with a womans weight! I've had few friends that battled that.

I like the curvy women, mainly for this reason. Alot of them are alittle insecure about themselves but the tend to be quite smart and that also attracts me to them.

As far as the shape of your body having anything to do with the development of the brain during a persons life is total crapola.

I think that is just common sense, but like abuddy of mine said, "I don't think the majority of the people have any common sense!"

Are you familiar with the study done by Devendra Singh, a psychologist? Singh measured waist-to-hip ratios of 286 ancient sculptures from African, Egyptian, Indian, Greek and Roman art and found that all "favored a ratio of 70%". It seems to be the golden mean that appeals to males. Apparently, women with waist-to-hip ratios around 70% "are more likely to bear babies". Their fat is in all the right places and has to do with their estrogen to testosterone balance. Singh also cited that "egg-shaped, pear-shaped, or stick-shaped women also suffer more from chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, certain cancers, and probably circulation. They are prone to various personality disorders."

Evidently men look at curvacious females and see a vessel that is ABLE to successfully carry their genetic lineage and so are more instinctively attracted to them. They may even see them as smarter.

Thank god for liposuction, eh ladies?
