Third Pole Theory

A few years back myself and a few friends where camping in the apache sitgreaves forest in AZ having general conversation and a good time, when i told them of my theory surrounding the Bermuda Triangle and all its strangeness, i was thinking about this the other day and decided i would try and share it here and see if anyone else could add something or even take the theory under their wing and let it progress, or maybe even tell me im crazy and forget it(wouldn't be the first time on ATS that happened).

My theory stems from my fascination with planetary Geology and Astrogeology and having spent some time working in and around Meteor Crater reading up on the theories of Dr Eugene Shoemaker, I thought if the impact at Chicxulub near the the tip of Yucatan Peninsula was made up of nickel iron asteroid rather than a supposed comet it could possibly create a massive Magnetic anomali in the earths crust during certain Sol events yet to be associated with events inside and around the area almost like the earth at times has a third pole?,

If the Magnetic anomali say where to intercept the natural passage of the earths Magnetic field as it moves from the Artic to the Antartic creating a vortex or void causing chaos in a localised area surrounding the remains of the Meteorite as well as damage caused by deep shockwaves and Geothermal activity immediatley following impact, the Asteroid impact thought to be around 65Million years ago the object itself thought to be or theorised to be in the region of 10KM Diameter, The crater itself is 180KM with an estimated fragmentory diametre of 300km, as anyone who has seen animations of meteorite impacts can remember that the 300KM range is only the inner limits of the destruction and metamorphic changes that would have taken place.

Many times scientists have been taken aback by solar activity eminating from the sun surprising what they had estimated at the time, (ice storms in Canada as an example), Therefore in short my theory is that paranormal events surrounding the Bermuda area could be cause by a mixture of solar events and destruction at Yucatan following the fragmentary destruction that forced metamorphic changes in the earths crust.

Please remember this is just my thought process working overtime i can not prove any of this without a few million dollars a boat, a scientific team, and a ton of suntan cream, Thank you for reading.

Hey you might be on to something here. I can see two possibilities with this iron meteorite theory. The first, you've already mentioned. The second one (which I just thought of) might be that the meteorite somehow 'changed' the magnetic field near that area. Kind of like how you can magnetize a piece of iron by whacking it really hard on another piece of iron.

Good post

From what I undestand there are other Bermuda Triangle type places around the world.

One reasonably famous one being not too far from the coast of Japan.

Yes i agree this did come up during the conversation you know how it is people building on idea's and pushing or suggesting other theories which was a good foundation stone, maybe these anomalies are wider than i could imagine after all the search continues for impact craters every day, i think the last count was close to or probably now over 180 crater sites of a large magnitude, i spoke to one of the friends who where there just this morning and he supposed that maybe the third pole theory should be extended to account for all these anomalies, this is where it could get even more wilder, what if these craters create some kind of worldwide network or a grid even so that when one void opens it creates a wormhole if you will that passes around or even through the planet itself?

I have read of pilots seeing tunnels appearing during weird storms and those pilots remembering stories and being told to avoid them, perhaps the anomalies create a short circuit of some kind? a stutter if you will? after all lightning can jump from one object or one place to another why not a magnetic storm? we know more about space than our own planet we should start to look inward more..

Thank you for your responces.

One problem with your theory is that a magnetic anomaly of the size and strength you're describing would be noticed. Compasses would be influenced, if nothing else. Absent such evidence, what leads you to believe that such an anomaly exists?

Not just compasses, but plane and boat gyroscopes. If gyroscopes were affected, could explain all those disappearances. They were actually crashes thanks to gyroscopes going nutty!
