so why did we attack iraq?

Actually of all things, this may save his historic outlook.

See..

30 years from now when it comes to light that we attacked Iraq for oil, and that if we had not our economy would have come to a halt, and that we did it to hold the oil reserves in a government pro western.. that could be looked on favorably.

oh, i know this. i'm just saying that as a response ot the "attacking out enemies" thing..

really?
so you're going to say defying the constitution is such a great thing?

Um..

The President does not pass laws him self. The House does.

And while Bush's ratings average 30-35% Congress's averages low 20's.

27% for bush now....
and again, bush has DEFIED the constitution with his executive orders and insisting on line item vetoes, his insistence on torturing prisoners of war, and various other acts. so he may not PASS laws, but he does actively defy them

and the congress is still 49% republican...

MLK jr is my heritage
Frederick Douglass is my heritage
Hippies are my heritage
Suffragettes are my heritage
see where i'm going here? those that stand for civil liberties and peace are my heritage, not some idiots that want to bomb everything.

You don't pick and choose who is, and is not your heritage. If you accept Washington as your heritage, along comes Jackson and the drunken Ulysses S Grant, or the cross dressing Hoover, and the many, many other failed or disgraced political figures that shaped our country.

oh, i know this as well. the lessons of the past must be learned from. i'm just listing the shining examples are the heritage that i'm proud of. the heritage i'm ashamed of is what we need to build on for a better future

Personally the way I see it is people draw lines with political parties.. and that is a division worsening every year, and it could be a dark road it leads down.

it's why i'm an independent...

america isn't a nation of war, we're supposed to be a nation of FREEDOM.

There has never been a decade in American history when we where not in a state of war with someone.

America is a nation of War. It's who we are.

a state of war can be something quite passive...
south korea and north korea are still in a state of war.
there have been decades where we had no armed forces....

war isn't something intrinsic to what it means to be america, it's something we can let go of
something we NEED to let go of

how about you pack up and leave my country and move to one that prefers security over liberty
and take the idiot coulter with you.

How sad..

How pathetic..

How embarrassing I have to call you a fellow countryman ....

You wish others with differing political views as your self to leave, to begone from "your" country so that only your own political ideologies can prevail over every one else's ....

How am I supposed to have respect for someone like that?

by realizing that this part of the post was a bit sarcastic and referring to certain people like ann coulter who say such things

maybe sarcasm is dead

i guess i'll either abandon sarcasm via text or highlight my sarcasm with some sort of emoticon in the future

Semper, that's true. It's amazing how some can say that a poll such as the Gallup or Reuters "leans to the right." I guess it might "lean to the right" of where he is politically, but to the average slob out there, both polls lean way, way to the left. I know they do for me...

they lean right of center... just not to "the right"
reuters actually tends to lean a bit left of center to left
but gallup ranges from down the middle to right of center.

"The average slob" huh?

So you believe that the average American (or, slob as you call them, in your patriotic pride) is... what, exactly? An extremist cobbling together bombs with intent to murder gays and / or clinic workers? The average slob believes that government (and those who believe in it) should be drowned in a bathtub? The average American believes that the poor should be used as dog food so they would stop impacting our otherwise glorious economic figures - without ever realizing that the "average slob" himself fits under the definition of poor?

'Cause that's more or less the only way a dude could be to the right of Gallop or - heavens to betsy - Zogby.

Did you bother to read what I was actually saying or did you just conveniently decide to be "offended?"

The offended part is humorous, but the REALLY hilarious post is when they post a "FACT" that is nothing more than their own politically biased assumptions and ACTUALLY, I mean ACTUALLY expect us to just accept it as a fact...Like they are teaching us something....

HAHAHAHAHA

NOW That Cracks Me Up....

I don't know if I will ultimately agree with the "worst ever" part, but I have to say as a die hard republican, he is the worst President we could have for these times now.

I'm just not convinced that anyone would have handled all the problems we are facing any better at this point. Our leadership as a whole is just not doing what needs to be done to save some of the disastors headed our way.

And let's not forget the President doesn't have ultimate power. The Senate and Congress have great deal of power and they are letting us down too.

That pretty much sums up the way I view him. I can't say that he has done terribly, but he hasn't done good in my estimation. I personally think the man is overwhelmed..

However, I am not sure anyone else would have done any differently or better than he has, though. In all honesty, while I don't agree with many of his provisions in the Patriot Act and the whole wire tapping issue, I really don't know what else can be done.

I consider AOL's poll legit for several reasons. 1 the US banned it from selling its service in the US.

2. they are user contributed

feel free to ask for more.. the list goes on
