Hmmm... my thoughts.

Personally, I have know for a while that "Al Qaeda" is a myth perpetuated by the govt. to provide a 'face' to our 'enemies'. That also why the whole Al Qaida/Iraq connection has been trumped the whole time by the govt. as well. The video you posted does an excellent job of explaining that the 'myth' exists, but doesn't touch much on the political and social impact that 'labelling' a group can have. I am not saying, however, that there are not 'terrorists' or individuals working in conjunction towards a common 'anti-western' path.

Through my research on the topic, I have found some references to "Al Qaida" meaning "The Base", including Wikipedia. If one goes further down the Wiki page, to the "The Name Al Qaida" section it even discusses the video that the OP linked to in the corrected link. It also states that Osama Bin Laden told a journalist in 2001 that the name "Al Qaeda" refered to 'the base' or training camp for Muhjadeen, and the 'name stuck'....

How did it 'stick'? Through the use of the term by Western Intellegence groups to describe Osama and his followers? Or by the Muhjahdeen themselves? I don't know...

But if it is all a creation of Western Intelligence, why use a term that means base or foundation? Seems like a powerful name to me, just the beginning. Alas, could be a reason for using "Al Qaeda" as the name? Yes there is!

Apparently, in 'everyday' arabic, a slang term for taking a 'bowel movement' is "Ana raicha Al Qaeda", which is something similar to "I need to go to the crapper" to say it nicely. However, I cannot confirm this meaning, and the source I found it was Prison Planet, but the article is seemingly informative. 'Al-Qaeda' is a Manufactured Intelligence Front. I recommend reading it if you didn't back in 2004.

So what does this all mean? To me it seems like a propaganda coup. Creating an "evil enemy" whose name means that it is the foundation for the whole anti-american movement, and to the arabic slang speakers, the west can incite even more anti-American hate by demonizing the Muslim Anti-Imperialist group by 'labeling' it as "The Toilet". Maybe I am wrong, but it seems very likely.

To me, the name "Al Qaeda" is a constant reminder that we are being manipulated by 'our leaders'. With the technology we have in the world today, we don't 'need' war anymore, we could settle conflicts 'virtually'. Iran vs US in a winner takes all World of Warcraft game, or EA Fifa soccer? Even the machines of war they are building now are starting to be controlled remotely, to keep pilots 'safe'... But certain individuals think they need even more power and wealth over their fellow humans, so they use the commoners to their dirty work by twisting and controlling their perceptions, inciting them through fear and anger, and sending them off to die for false causes.

The are called "Al Qaeda" because you can't call someone a "Sand Ni**er" in the Media.

* I hate the N-word my self, so that is why it is edited in that way. I hope even 'aluding' to the term is not a violation of the ATS TOS. If it is, please replace "Sand Ni**er" with "Camel Jockey" or Towelhead" or someother Racist, derogatory term.
