If not Bin Laden who should we believe when considering the motives of the terrorists?

If he says that this is why they hate America we are not to believe him, but something said by westerners?

It amazes me that people would rather believe the hopeless lies in the media rather than the explanation from the "horses mouth" that does leave hope of solving the conflict.

Of course there is no hope if they are jealous, or because they hate our freedoms.

We are not going to give up our wealth, or freedoms.

But maybe we could withdraw from Arab nations, and get Israel out of Palestine.

To me that seems like a much better solution than wars against nations. That will only produce more terrorists, and provide them with even greater motives.

They have their own agenda, and in case you have never taken the time to notice, our western ideas of individual freedom does not fit with their idea for us.

Never has Bin Laden, or any other terrorist organization stated that they hate America because of our freedoms.

They hate us because of the things we do that affect their lives.

They hate us because we have allied ourselves with Israel.

When you take on allies you also take on enemies.

There is no nation on earth that could have provided us with more enemies than Israel.

The US is only experiencing something which the rest of the world has suffered from for centuries. The oceans were it's protection and once technology overcame this buffer it was inevitable that terrorism would arrive on US shores.

Get it right though. It's not US governments or individuals that terrorists hate. It's the threat that democracy and modernisation brings to them. Their religion is merely something convenient to hide behind. What terrorists want is power and money. The US and it's allies are a threat to those aims.

Terrorist groups use religion as a way of mobilising support - there are hundreds of examples throughout history and not just within Islam. When they gain power, they may run their spoils to some warped version of their religion (ie; the Taleban in Afghanistan) but the doctrines are nearly always only forced upon the masses whilst those in power live a totally different life - a life where money and comfort is their god.

Don't kid yourself that a change in government or policy in the West will appease these extremists. Until everyone is bowing down to them, they will not quit. Their aim is your subjugation. Disagree? Go take a look at history and countries where religion now plays a part within politics. It's been used to beat the people into submission.

Sure, there are those who are extremists within the Islamic religion and this tiny minority is fighting for what it believes is the right of their belief to dominate. But ask yourself where these beliefs came from. Who programmed these people to hate and to strike out in fear? You can bet your ass that the people at the top of these organisations aren't fighting for Islam.
