to the paranormal readers: would you care?

i have questions to the readers of the paranormal threads.

if there was someone who could do something that only others could dream of, that others could only imagine in the wildest imagination in the back of there mind. you dont know this person you've never met them, you never will. lets just say that the special thing is flight, not flying in a plane, jet, helecopter, or something off of some movie or tv show. actual levitating through the clouds
you know they can do this special 'thing', billions of people have seen this person do it and there is no way in the slightest mind that anyone could ever fake it even a little, but it is true, it is real. this person never hurt anyone with this thing or ever will.

would you care?
would you consider this person a spawn of the devil or the power of god?
i would very much appreciate your comments, thanks you~

I wouldn't care but would like to see him studied and to see how he does it.

I would consider the person one that's evolved/learned/understood enough to develop this ability. It would also be this person's duty to spread knowledge of such a thing. For the betterment of mankind etc.

Not good or evil. That depends on the person and not the ability.

Seems like it would be easy to prove to Mr.Randi....no? Oh wait the one million doesn't exist

if you had an ability to do something this amazing, what would choose between these two: would quietly use it and keep to the shadows having noone know your real name or exploit the ability and your persinal life?

I would assume this person is spiritually advanced (or maybe s/he made a deal with the devil, lol). Depending on what it is I might be jealous. I would probably also be in awe and be amazed (this is what draws me to the paranormal in the first place).

I really believe that a person who could do something totally AMAZING should keep their mouths shut about it, for if the country they live in doesn't grab them in the night to use as they see fit...(make threats on the family if you do not DO as they say ect) then some OTHER country would sneak in and grab them.

I think people with REAL genuine talents of the paranormal nature either have to go public and start touring or STFU about it......you would HAVE to make yourself VERY public in order to NOT be grabbed.
Personally I would not want any fame or attention and would just go about my life, but using my special powers in secret.

I would not even admit to having it on ATS.
I really don't believe ANY of the folks who DO make claims to having special powers on the internet, for I believe it it WAS real, they would not go around admitting to it or they would be trying to take the 'fame route' and I don't think hiding behind the computer facilitates that end......IMO I think making such claims on a computer is allot of wishful thinking and nothing more.

MAN OH MAN I wish I could fly the way you describe levitating through the clouds in my physical body!!!!!!

I would try to be open about it probably. I would hope I wouldn't try to exploit anyone or anything, I just don't believe in being a phony or manipulative person in general. If the public scrutiny (brought about by my ability) became too much stress, I would probably lay low for awhile (maybe forever), keep a low profile.

Depends on what it was. If it was flying yeah I probably would exploit it. But it just depends on what the power is.

No, I wouldn't, but I would like to see it done.
I don't think it would have anything to do with god of the devil as I dont believe in either.
Evolution, perhaps? Aliens?

As for your second question, I would opt for the former, stay in the shadows, noone knows my name, etc. I wouldn't want any unneeded attention.
That my opinion though.

It's possible. I saw my brother transport from one part of the yard to the next. In the blink of an eye. I wasn't the only person to see this. Immediately after seeing it my friend and I looked at eachother, and I only said, "Did you....ughhh yeah." Then I was said, "Oh my god, Jonathan, how on earth did you do that?" He somehow knew I was already assuming it was satanic, or a power given to him from some other force. He told me he got his power from something else. He mentioned god, in fact, but didn't go into other detail. My brother is a good kid, so I just left it alone. Didn't force an explanation. We drank that night, but I'm pretty sure that both my friend and I saw what we saw. I've never halunicated(sp?) before. I see shadows sometimes, but nothing of solidity.

Seeing that happen was enough validation that there are other people who are capable of doing similar things. If you can transport, maybe whatever source you're getting the power from can allow you to fly, or even just make you visualize it realisitically like OOBE.

I don't have an explanation, and my brother doesn't brag, or talk about what he can do, and I don't ask unless I know he's going to tell me freely.
It's better to keep to yourself, because he must've figured it out on his own, anyway. People would sh*t bricks if someone outwardly said they could fly, and proved it, or even discussed their source. I'd keep it to yourself. Perhaps, the fact that I just wished I could do it, is the reason he didn't tell me. I don't think it's fair.

Flying is not so amazing. Everyone has the power within them to achieve this. It is just a Highly advanced form of Psychokinesis. And I know alot of people who have at least a primitive understanding and use for basic Psychokinesis. I, Myself, have no such talents but it IS achievable by the average Joe.

I would care because every time someone reaches a certain level, it becomes a bit less difficult for others to do the same. I would be curious how he reached such a state.

I would consider this person as someone who has reached the limit or is approaching the limit for what ability can be obtained in this world.

It's really not that hard to do certain things (I'm not talking about biggies like flying, levitating, or so) if you practice, practice, practice.

I'm not doing those things anymore, but at the height of my spiritual awareness, I was able to telepathically transmit my picture to someone on the phone, I could create mental "fogs" to avert the attention of people from certain places, and once I defrosted part of a car windshield by simply focusing on it.

I'm sure everyone can do that, it just takes a long time to get there. Read any book you can get your hands on about honing your psychic skills, and how to raise your vibration, and then follow the exercises religiously. I'm talking years of practice here, but it can be done, and once you're able to, it becomes second nature.

Meanwhile I have a very simple and ordinary life and don't practice those things anymore... so it's like a muscle, if you don't use it, it weakens. But if someone is really into doing it, I'm sure they'll find the energy to go through with it.

Id keep it secret because I enjoy my privacy.

Next thing you know I will have a thousand grabbing hands at my doorstep, all not believing they can do it themselves (sadly). And then government agents who want to hook me up to machines all day. And finally religious fanatics who want to burn me.

If I found out somebody could do something like that, I wouldn't automatically assume anything about whether they were good or evil. I would think it was really cool that they could do that, and I would want to know if it was something that I could also learn.

If I had that kind of power, I would not go around showing it off. I like to keep to myself anyway... but that would just be asking for some harm to come to you (from jealous people, or from religious fanatics who assume you are evil incarnate). I also would not want to be locked up in some lab to be studied, or for the government to try to use me as some kind of superweapon.

It would be cool to do the Superman thing, though. Secret identity, save people, etc.

It wouldn't be their duty to teach us, it would be our duty to reach them (yes, Reach not Teach).

There have been tales of this in ancient times, I wouldn't think too much of it though. I KNOW humans are capable of amazing things, so it wouldn't shock me too much, it would be cool though.

I'd maybe care, if it seemed real and not an illusion, as others display. I'd also wonder how it was done, etc, etc... not to mention how difficult it would be for others to achieve that state.

I'd see them as more harnessing the power of energy which is probably spiritual, might be God influenced or natural Godlike energy.
