Just came across this conspiracy in light of ardent Vatican followers discussions.
Well this is a suspicion since it is thought some high officials and even cardinals are also
masons and were in danger of being demoted. Thus those who were active seeking
the new popes decree on other matters were disappointed in any scandal that would
interrupt their matters with the pope.

I found what might be one reason for most people not to like revolutions
