We all see what we want to. You and I too. And I disagree. Nothing is "Clearly" seen in all this data. Otherwise we would not still be discussing it's validity as a thread.

I disagree. I clearly saw the makings of a hoax from the first sentence of post #1.

When someone starts a thread with a high-profile topic such as this and then tells the readers in the very first sentence not to think that what they are presenting is fraudulent, you better believe all sorts of 'possible hoax' flags are raised for me.

Been there, seen that before.

Either way, her title was deliberately misleading. And we're harrassing her? Give me a break. I take great offense as us trying to get to the bottom of this being compared to a lynch mob or school bullies.

Okay, one more time for the benefit of clarity:

She sees what she sees. You see it differently. Others see it differently. She still has the right to see what she sees and show it to others in hopes that others see what she sees. That's how simple it really is. What possible benefit is there for it, otherwise? The only reasons someone would do something like this as a hoax, is for attention, money, ATS points or disinfo.

Now follow along:

1. For attention: Pala gets plenty of attention that isn't hostile like this thread has been. If she wanted attention, why would she go through all this misery, when all she'd have to do is post one of any number of topics here that have plenty of support, fringe or otherwise?

2. For money: Don't make me laugh.

3. For ATS points: Uh, to spend on what?

4. For disinfo: You mean the potential doesn't exist for aliens or spirits to be caught on tape? And we know this how?

I think what's happening is, some people are just so frustrated that more concrete evidence hasn't been exposed yet on the ufo question, that they are lashing out at anything that's disappointing. I sympathize, however, you can't force people to see things your way. It's just not gonna happen. Marginalizing folks you disagree with, will only intensify their beliefs and not serve any purpose other than wasting moments of your life and perhaps add a few wrinkles to boot.

No this is "beneath the normal quality of discussion" claiming:

this is an alien, demon dog, ram, ghost, sprit...etc.

And yet another example of poor quality posting.
You see, had you been paying attention from the outset, you would
know that the ram is not the head sticking out from behind the chair.
In fact, several of the examples you listed are exaggerated mischaracterizations of what she claimed.

Mischaracterizing someone's intent or posts, is not good form. It doesn't add to the discussion but detract from it. It causes additional argument that has nothing whatsoever to do with the real topic, clogging the thread with meaningless drama. And finally, it's a bold-faced lie, meant to malign the evidence, rather than addressing the topics. If you can't address it properly, perhaps because you feel it is beneath you to take the time, then why bother posting in thread to begin with?

This is the problem I see in controversial threads. People taking pot shots, mischaracterizing the other person's points, and basically lying to make their own case. Didn't your parents ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right?

It would be a different story if the Op had said, after some of the revelations in this thread:

'Oh, those are the videos I made when I installed and tried to use the capture program. I couldn't find the videos after I ran the program. But, it still looks like something non-earthly is in those videos.'

Instead we have 'An alien used my program to video themselves or friends'. I downloaded and installed the cam program but I didn't even try it out (at least that seems to be what the OP is implying). The aliens did though.

The think the Op should have cut her losses.

You can't censor a person's thoughts, beliefs or visual acuity.
You can't force her to see things your way. You can only
discuss it with her in hopes that she'll see what you see instead
of what she sees. But browbeating someone ain't gonna work.

I'm sure there are cases where peer pressure caused someone
to change face, but you can bet that if pressure was the reason,
that deep down, they still maintain their original stance.
What then, has happened? You've succeeded in marginalizing
a particular person's thoughts and beliefs, as if to say they have
no right to them because they don't agree with yours. But they
DO have a right to them or they wouldn't be able to keep thinking
them privately or amongst others who won't abuse them for
seeing/thinking differently.

You know all this. I've seen many of your posts and you seem
like a logical person. Think about it.

Children, enough fighting. Until the mods take action, let's just sit back and see if this thread will die on its own from lack of interest.

All this proves is that she believed in this so much that she asked us to listen with an open mind.

She has been here long enough to know the dangers of such claims in a public forum. I do not see any attempt to fool anyone.

Your picking at straws.

That is compassionate and objective. I agree.

Allow the story to flow. Ask her good questions or we will get no answers.

I understand what you are saying. I really have not been addressing the video content. It's the way they came about and were recorded. She can believe whatever about the subject in them and I am fine with that aspect. I have been trying to give the OP the benefit of doubt in all of this.

I just think the Op has it more together than to believe none of the evidence supporting a more rational explanation, at least for how they came into existence, can't be accepted as possible. But like you have stated, that's her call.

I don't believe this started as a hoax; it was a bit of a misinterpretation of what really happened. Just my opinion.

I'm a hypocrite.
Anyway, the point is still valid. Can you not see it happening in controversial topics? It happens all the time. It's a tactic some people use to try to disqualify each other's thoughts/opinions/theories, but it's not a useful tactic.

I agree.
Don't believe it if you will (or won't) and if so, present some valid evidence. If you disagree, yet don't have any valid evidence, go make fun of someone else!

Ok I just spent the last hour rehashing this entire thread to myself.

The OP's computer is just over a year old, meaning it was new/almost new at the time of the recordings. Possibly these recordings were made by the OP unknowingly while setting up her new piece of technology.

Unless the OP enjoys surfing smutty sites and the like often, I doubt the theory of the trojan.

I own a Logitech QuickCam. They are terrible little pieces of crud, and the grainy film looks exactly like a bit of film taken in the dark with a muffled light source and no low-light filter on. Also, there are no recording filters (other than low light) that come with the stock QuickCam software, so I doubt the theory of a purposeful hoax by the OP, by way of using a blur/distortion filter.

Maybe I'm a little unclear on the facts but weren't these pictures taken with the eVision Clearview? or whatever? They must have been as the OP has only recently gotten the QuickCam, according to her own words.

Now, let's take a look at the time frame. The timestamps place these recordings at 1:44 PM, on Thursday, August 31st 2006. I am assuming, based on the OP's story that she works irregular hours. Generally, people would be working at this time and point, as for her location? Unknown. Could have been home, could have been working. I hate to sound cliche but. 'You ain't got no alibi!'

If we were to assume that everything that the OP says is true, we would come to a conclusion something like this:

Gleepnog and Earl, two space aliens from another planet are cruising along when they see our Poster leaving her home to go do something with her son who is home from college until probably the end of the week, so maybe they go have lunch. Gleepnog suggests that, as the prankster he is, he and Earl should definitely # with the poster by messing with her prized brand new Dell. Dude.

So, they beam themselves into her bedroom using their hyper-advanced transporter, only to be utterly baffled and immensely fascinated with an oscillating camera and computer chair.

"lol." says Gleepnog as he pokes his head from behind the leather seat.

"I'm bored, let's go!" says Earl, as his miniscule alien attention span finally breaks after two minutes.

And so they leave to the corner store for condoms and chico sticks.

The moral of the story: Aliens have better # to do than muck with your webcam for giggles.

CASE CLOSED.

Anyone with a shred of common sense would look at the pics and see they were human.

Wouldn't it just be intelligent to concede that someone else has had access to your computer, rather than pixies and goblems and god knows what else?

It makes more sense than trying to convince everyone that something is there that ISN'T there.

Wow, thanks for straightening me out on this one Undo. I've been waiting to see who would step up in this thread and be the voice of moral objectivity. Looks like you're it. The majority disagreed with her assessment. But, I'm not going to let her off the hook because she seemed honest and really believed it.

I followed along just fine, from the beginning sentence. A hoaxer leaves clues along the way. This thread was rife with them. How about you follow along and go back to the beginning and list all of her inconsistincies. You should see it.....quickly. Apparently hoaxes are easliy perpetrated on you.

I'm hardly frusrated by lack of UFO evidence. Even the title lended itself towards a hoax. I bet that is why this thread got attention as quickly as it did, to see if it was and who could proove it first.

But in case you still haven't got it, I'm calling her out at as a hoaxer to the ATS community. If you think I'm being too harsh, you're free to leave this thread at any time.

I will do the same because now that it's been proven a hoax, all that is left to do is pick on those who are being "mean" to the OP for being a hoaxer. After all, we're no better than school bullies or a lynch mob. There will be people like you hanging around trying to somehow justify of defend the OP because she's "just so darn innocent" in all of this.

the title says

Movie of an Alien found in my C Directory on My Computer!

if the OP had said, SOMEBODY had made a movie on the webcam and filed it on the c drive, then we have something to debate.

but the OP is certain it is an alien as the title says
how has this certainity came about, there must be a big reason to keep on believing this.

this thread is sooooo like the one about the monster in the little boys closet.
same questions again, why would a monster/alien play about in someones house. bigger still, why did a number of aliens make TWO videos and then leave.

i fully believe in aliens but not ones who play with human computers and web cams.

but then again
why am i writing this

. She had many opportunities to clarify and answer questions. Nada.

I believe this is a case of your desire to see only one side of the conversation in the thread. You should list the examples where she was asked and didn't answer, questions put forward by other posters in the thread. You're the one insisting she did/didn't do these things, so provide the evidence. Perhaps then we can get down to what the real problem is/was, and why it managed to get this far out of control.
