Just look at the support! I've been doing the math since 6:45 eastern and it is averaging out to between 3000 and 4000 dollars per minute! I just now got a chance to make my donation, and just the same for many people in the U.S. who are just barely getting home from work as I type.

If he gets to 3.1 Million he will beat the record for money raised in one day in this presidential campain (which Romney holds).

If this keeps up over the next 4 hours, it will be getting mighty close, and perhaps before the day is over, it just could happen. It seems very likely to me. Also drawing closer and closer to the 12 million goal (by december)What a message of support to send for this man.

Hopefully he'll be giving some of that money back when he hopefully becomes president.... Or who else bets in the unlikely chance he does become president, he'll become corrupted like very other one we've had? Is the only way to show support for a presidential candidate throwing money at him?

Well I think voting for him, having a bumper sticker, and donating are how I will do it, I may get around to one of the meetup groups someday. The thing about the money all in one day is that it shows that many people support him and are willing to put their money where their mouth is. The Mainstream media cannot say it's just a few people spamming after this.

Edit: btw, look at his voting record, and what he's been talking about the past 20 years. You think he'd give up on his ideas/integrity just like that? For what? This man cannot be bought, he's proven it.

He doesn't have to be bought. That's what campaign contributions are for. Ever wonder how Bush Jr. got all of the funds for his presidential campaign? Most of it was from big corporations like oil and energy (Like the infamous Enron Company with the monopoly scandal). It’s pretty much just another form of lobbying. They both cost about the same, if you include lobbying bribes.

I don't trust any politician. They all seem trustworthy and competent at first, then look what power does to them all.

Well looking at Bush Jr. and where he got his hundreds of millions in funding, it's no wonder we got into a dang war.

I don't think Ron Paul is going to be taking money from war mongers, but there must be other sources. As long as it's not a threat to national security and doesn't impede on our lives and rights, then what's the problem?

Also, how extensively have you looked into Ron Paul?

You do realize that he is considered an outsider in Washington? He is not a typical politician. It is more honest to call him a citizen-statesman. At least IMO.

I was only 20 at the last election (so I have not paid attention to the primaries/elections ever before), and I didn't care/didn't think it mattered who was president. I also thought things were going well for us. What I realize now is that things are/were going well because we are taxing future generations and making them inherit wars they didn't start. So I'm a little less apathetic to the whole deal, cause one day this free ride will run out, and it's going to be our fault - and it's going to be our grandkids who are actually stuck with the bill.

I can't say I have looked into him too extensively. I'm only a teenager so I won't be able to vote anyways. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope for a comet to hit them all or something so we get another chance to pick who we actually want. The only good politician is the current president of Bolivia (Evo Morales) who was born on a Coca farm in a small straw house, as one of seven children. He became a politician for his country and his will to change it and see it prosper. We haven’t had a president like that. All of our president were born into the 'upper caste' and are rich, or become rich. A true working-class citizen of this country can't become president. The upper class won't let you, and you need millions. Politics are for the ‘worthy’ elite. You can't just have widely accepted ideals. Hell, the poorest of Bush's cabinet is Condi, and she's just a multimillionaire.

I'm part of this generation you're talking about. When I turn twenty in a couple of years, I’ll be taking the bill. I'll be paying $3-4 a gallon of gas when I get a car, on minimum wage. I'll be taking the brunt of the housing market, paying half a million for a decent home. Then I'll be forced to pass this legacy onto my children. If I can even afford them now.

This is exactly why Ron Paul supporters are so motivated to donate or put up a sign or get involved. He's not getting his money from corporations, he's not chosen by the elite. It's all coming from regular people rallying behind his message.

This isn't just about $4 gas or the housing market, it's an idealogical thing, it's about doing what's right. No matter what, it's not ok to pass debt down to the next generation. It's a bad policy and it needs to be stopped. Not because of me. I can't fix what's been passed to me or you, but I can try to make sure that the next generations are not stuck with debt and wars they had nothing to do with.

And before people start saying that I've been passed a good life? And I have. But I'd gladly trade it for peace and to not have my generation being slaves to debt. My generation never had any right to this "free ride" we all took part in in some fashion, it was more shoved down our throats. And if we wake up, we may just be able to keep it from happening to those arriving later.
