How do you pronounce regedit?

Referring to regedit.exe, the Windows registry editor.

It's a "word" that was written before spoken, so pronunciation is generally arbitrary.

I know of two ways which I believe are most common: with a hard G (get) and with a soft G (age).

It is my opinion that the correct pronunciation is with a soft G, as the origin registry is.

What's yours?

It's obviously the soft g sound, as in registry.

I think all g followed by i is soft g. Let's see:

registry
regicide
regis

I'll have to check an online grammar source, but so far, my theory stands true.

Registry Editor = Reg Edit the g has a sound of j as in jet.

I don't get the confusion?
