There is now a flood in Tabasco and it's capital Villahermosa, in Mexico. There are people trapped in their homes, on rooftops and are still without rescuers. Helicopters are being sent in.

Mexico's president Felipe Calderon has flown to the area and promised more soldiers and aid. Mexico's oil Industry is Crushed. Only one person has died so far in the horrible flood.

The Red Cross is also helping with the best of their ability, buy bringing in food for the villagers.

That's more than I'd want to send.

They already get $50 billion from the United States each year from their illegal immigrants in this country.

Plus, where the hell was the Mexican government aid to our Katrina victims 2 years ago?

Come on - these are people we are talking about. Let's leave the gov out of it and return to being human and compassionate.

This is terrible. The area affected is just hard to conceive. 80% of the state of Tabasco is under water!!! 850 towns flooded!

It's just terrible.

Compassionate? Expect to see more die off as the years progress due to a changing Earth.

I can't resist - Do you think this is what they mean by "wet back"? Sorry...

How soon they forget....

“The United States will always be grateful to the people of Mexico for the generosity extended to us as we meet the challenge of this difficult time,” said U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Tony Garza.

“The United States is engaged in a monumental effort to ease the suffering of millions of Americans and foreign nationals, whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Thanks to the generous assistance provided by Mexico’s government, the private sector, and many of our southern neighbor’s individual citizens, the immense task ahead of us will be dealt with more efficiently. I am particularly heartened by the rapid outpouring of sentiment and solidarity from throughout Mexico. We are very pleased to accept the Mexican army’s convoy of relief supplies to the affected region, which entered the United States this morning; and the Mexican navy’s dispatch of a ship carrying supplies and water purification equipment, along with engineers with expertise in repairing dykes. We are also especially grateful for Protección Civil’s offer of experts to work on coordination and management of relief efforts.
