There has been a lot of inquest into MARS and the space agencies of many countries are thinking of exploring this planet once again. Ever more closely.

So what is that on this planet that attracts us?

To know that, we need to get some facts clear. For example, we need to know the TRUE picture of MARS.

1. What does it look like - From a distance and close by.
2. Is there Water on the Planet?
3. Are there evidence of Life?
4. What is the Temperature on Mars and does it support life?

In exploring the above topics. we need to provide evidence in form of figures, photographs and documents.

One can start by displaying the evidence and the others can support it with official documents or pictures from NASA or debunk it.

So let us start.

SPRING TIME MARS

Source: Hubble Telescope

ANALYSIS

Seems like there is great deal of water on its surface during spring time. That could explain the Blue color.

It could also be water vapor in the atmosphere.

Either way, this could provide support to life on the planet.

NASA LIE

What NASA shows to us is a dull dark red planet with no water a totally inhospitable place to go.

Go read up on the concept of an "atmosphere". The blue has to do with light scattering in said atmosphere just like Earth has a blue sky (or red, or yellow, or whatever depending on the sun/pollutions/etc).

So no, water does not explain the blue color.

And the NASA Mars water picture is a concept of how it could have looked in the past.

How about this color image....from

Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Mars Color Imager Link

Does this look the RED MARS that we have been used to seeing?

But according to NASA, Mars is nothing like EARTH. So can anyone explain the BLUE stuff on Mars. What is reflecting the light?

I can imagine "Methane" on other planets such as Neptune or Uranus for the "Bluish Color"

There is no "Methane" on Mars. Why does not NASA show us the TRUE pictures and explain what it is..

Instead it keeps on projecting the RED MARS image over and over......in our science books, on its websites, everywhere.....

I agree..... But it looks so much like the pictures taken by Hubble...

So did Hubble look back into MARS past?

What is the blue atmosphere reflecting upon? We only see our blue sky from space because of the reflection it makes on the sea.

Its the scattering of light, not reflection of the sea. Mars has the same atmospheric concept, just a different density/gas composition, thus not producing the strong blue sky of Earth.

And why would it sometimes appear more red or more blue? Simple. Its blue by default, but massive sandstorms that occur frequently whip up particles making the sky red.

The lack of scientific knowledge and thinking on this board sometimes astounds me. First lets clear up some of the issues. Mars has an axial tilt

The first picture shows the Solis Lacus region and Mare Erythraeum region on the left, so north is at the top so it is spring or summer time for the Northern Hemisphere but autumn/winter for the Southern hemisphere.

Secondly, if you go to a telescope and look at Mars, you will see tha6t it is predominately orange, but the limb can appear distinctly blue at times. This is the scattering of sunlight in the thin Martian atmosphere, which is largely CO2.

No one has said that there is no water on Mars. The polar icecaps are most likely to consist of largely water ice and CO2. Liquid water cannot exist on Mars because the atmospheric pressure is to low.

It is not just NASA that has explored Mars, but the whole ESA and many many amateur astronomers. Are we all lying? IF so, please enlighten us to the great big agenda.

Is the sky blue on Mars?

Also check out some wierd objects on Mars

solarsystem.nasa.gov...

Are they rovers? But there seems to be two close by.

The high resolution images are also available on the following folder.
