Well... maybe that isn't such a good idea - if the NWO kicks off and people plan on doing something about it, it would probably be better to find some other means of communication other than radio or phone.

By creating anti-NWO circles you're more or less increasing your target area, which is ultimately what they want us to do, as opposed to individually causing hell for them - thereby forcing a massive expendature of resources and time to hunt us all down...

Which may in turn allow other anti-NWO affiliates an opportunity to do some real damage.

In the event of some mega-disaster, natural or man made, that shut down the internet and/or ATS, there would remain only personal contact, in some form. How many here could contact another member without the internet?

Perhaps regional and local ATS "chapters" should be formed. There could be the added benefit that such ATS chapters would not endanger more than a few members if it were "outlawed" in some way.

And a "local" event, like a BBQ at some lakeside resort, would would allow members to exchange more personal contact info with people that might be helpful in an emergency, if they so chose.

And in an everyday sense it would allow members to exchange videos and information about areas of mutual interest, be it UFOs or CT. on a semi-regular basis. A couple of times a year, local chapters could attend regional gatherings.

Without any intentional effort, a certain amount of low tech back door ways would naturally evolve on an informal basis, that would be useful if the fit hits the shan in some way.

And low tech has always worked, we're wired for that.

Perhaps we can all train courier pigeons

I do like the previous comment about creating local chapters. It would serve as a backup solution in case my internet connection goes down permanently.

I've often felt that it would be good to know some ATS people locally in the event that we cannot connect online and need to communicate for support or sharing of information. I just think it would be better if groups of people were to connect offline and not necessarily post meeting dates online.

We're not the only ones with low-tech, and assuming this is a NWO scenario, i'd imagine they'd be very interested in military scientists and intelligence, possibly drafting/forcing them to work for the NWO.

Hmm... what am i saying?

Some people are better off alone in these kinds of situation, whilst if they were with other people things would get out of hand pretty quickly (vehemently opposing leadership choices and causing group confrontation, for example.).

I'll keep to myself, if i happen to be listening to some conspiracy nutters going on about an armed raid on an NWO armoury or something i might lend a hand from an unseen place. (Ensuring enemy reinforcements don't arrive, for example).

You could put it down to me being afraid of inside men, or that i don't want anyone to know me and therefore have something to hide if interrogated, or you could simply put it down to me being an arrogant #, if you like.

That's not to say if it's big enough (like storming the enemy HQ) I won't be around.

You might be wondering how i would come by this information - i'll explain it as such, how does an enemy with no spies know where his opponent will strike?

Strategy.

Even an amatuer with a small idea of the importance of strategy can tip the odds in the favours of a few brave (althought hopelessly out-numbered) men.

As such, my first objective will be to acquire a sniper rifle.

I won't be the only one, there may be thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people whom would prefer not to get involved with any particular organisation - friend or foe.

So not only do we have the actual groups of resistance fighters, we also have the guys sitting behind the scenes, watching for the right shot.

I believe at some point i have said that if a NWO did come to be, there would be at least a dozen assassinations in the first month, and that's from disgruntled civilians.

God knows how many assassination attempts would be prepared if an entire country rose up.

EDIT: Unfortunately, i believe that this reasoning shows why it is so important for an NWO organisation to do serious damage to the population of earth - in order to control it.

The question isn't what to do when ATS is shut down. It is the entire Internet that would be inoperational, due to catastrophic loss of infrastructure. The phone systems, the cable systems, the cell networks, all are quite fragile and would not hold up under any kind of generalized crash of 'the system'.

I have been meaning to make a post about how people are supposed to stay informed after the crash. It is easy to receive shortwave radio, and people should be prepared with the hardware and the knowledge to tune in because that will be the only source of information out there when the system collapses. It doesn't take much of a receiver to do this, and it doesn't take much of an antennae either. Like everything else it is a matter of being prepared before you need it.

Now then, broadcasting on shortwave is a whole other story. You need a fair amount of power, the right equipment, and then your antennae becomes quite critical. We are not talking about hundred foot towers here, just smart and knowledgable setups that can easily move information around the world.

The shortwave nerds are still out there, they always have been, and when the power goes out they will have a critical function to keep people aware of what is going on in the world. Of course you need to be able to trust the source as well, I spent many hours as a kid tuning into Radio Moscow and Radio America to see which one was spewing the most outrageous propoganada.

I think we need to really start spreading the word about ham radio so everyone can get the simple parts necessary to stay in touch after the industrial civilization collapses. This is a much bigger issue than not being able to load up ATS on a whim - when communications go down it will ALL go down.

Thanks,
at least someone shares my concern . The concept of an alternator and how to make one on an indoor training cycle for power is critical too, if family is involved.

This seems to be something pondered by many of us here on on ATS. I myself have thought long and hard about it. Here is my guess on what could happen and my words can be marked.

The internet could get messed up somehow. There are many possibilities of how this could come about and how it could be achieved. The censorship of the internet is my main concern. I highly doubt the internet will crash completely, but imagine if it turned into a similar state as the Chinese have their internet. ATS could be shut down, or at least any threads or people that are deemed threats to national security or terrorist or whatever. That would easy for them to do, everyone knows of the "dreaded 404."

Radio could also be censored completely. People like Alex Jones or the Coast to Coast guy could be taken off the air, or told not to say certain things. (chances are that is already the case) And all radio frequencies are watched like crazy, so no one could start one up in their basement that would last longer than a couple days before the suits get there.

People who have any natural ability to rouse people and motivate them, such as the makers of this site, will be denied the power to do so. Any number of bad things could happen, ranging from loss of internet rights, to being thrown in one of the FEMA camps. (worst case scenario)

Here is what we have to do. We need to start getting together with people, in real life and on here. My e-mail is available. Some may think that is not such a good idea, but my guess is if "they" want to find you, there is plenty of paper trail and internet trail to track you down, so you might as well not be scared to say who you are. If we start getting together with people outside of this site, with friends, like-minded people, etc, eventually we can spread across vast expanses of land through ties. Ex: I live in Colorado and have friends all across the state. I imagine some of you do as well. And I also know people in New York and Arizona. Same with some of you. We need to start getting together, and the best idea to rally around at this point in time is Ron Paul and the peaceful revolution.

Anyone who feels the same way U2U me or whatever. The constitution says specifically we have the right to peacefully organize. I suggest we use it to the fullest.

I hate to tell you this but no matter how many people want Ron Paul in office it will never happen. The concept of someone being 'elected' by the people is a complete farce and the system has been fixed for a good long time now. Unless there was a free media and a system that eliminates the big money backers from pulling the strings you will never see another free election in the United States.

Betchya Hilary is the next Prez - just follow the money!

What a nightmare!

But really all electronics would have to be controlled. Servers everywhere, wireless, fiber optic, radio frequencies and more.

The whole of technology's infrastructures capillaries have found their way deep into internet technology. It crosses every border (Even China gave up trying to control it), and is part of telecommunications and data exchange for countless people, companies, governments and more.

Most the understanding for how this all works is within our peoples brain trust. They (who?) might be able to shut off many parts, but the people who man the servers and electronics exchange, software and hardware are capable of defeating such attacks on our electronic freedoms. They made it!

Theres a whole other internet technology the military is developing that is even more tenacious and "hardened", and bleed off from those innovations to the current internet technology are far too profitable to be proprietary to militaristic applications exclusively. We will realize some of that soon I would bet, if not already.

The web is a dragon with a billion heads. We might experience interruptions, but it is far too pervasive and complex for even the most powerful to completely control. Even with TAXES

The Internet is the electronic manifestation of the Power of the People (of Earth I might add).

I worry more about our response to fearful thoughts like the lies of terrorism.

The shutting down of such things is highly improbable. I can assure you, "they" want to keep seeing what you have to say. Your words, and your ability to access desired content are much more valuable than silence.

Hey,
I'll just whip out my Neutrino-emission-based Sub-Space radio to get ATS news.

ATS is and will be far too public and such an act would be like a public assassination. They are not about to blow their cover with such a stupid move. Whomever would try such a cynical and despicable act would fail under pressure from all of us, just to begin with. We can always call Lou Dobbs too.

The higher profile, the more untouchable. So keep the ATS flag flying and spread the discussion. We have work to do!

I too have thought much about what this or that. ATS shutting down for various reasons hasn't been up there as high as the whole internet being shut down.

I've looked at using a satellite uplink to connect to the internet. It's very easy with the right equipment that can be store bought or just pieced together. Problem with this is there are just 5 downlink gateways in North America used this way. The internet could be easily shut off at the tap.

The amateur radio network set up for packet is something that has been done for years. Commercial version networking over shortwave for e-mail uses several different formats. This is a proven communication method.

The problem with shortwave transmissions. There is a theory that high frequency transmissions will not work after a nuclear exchange due to high ionization in the atmosphere. This is why the US government looked at a very low frequency communication system and has tested several different types of systems on low frequencies. Another person wrote a very good description of shortwave broadcasting and the associated problems within this thread. You got a star from me, but more importantly, you knew what you were talking about.

As far as IRC or usenet or even E-mail, I'd forget all that if it requires a cable modem or dialup connection. This is too easy to just shut down. Becoming unconnected from the internet is very easy to do at national and regional levels. It just requires the opening of switches at some communications centers.

interesting ...

i had a saying some time ago: "until our mind remains free information can spread like wildfire and none can stop it".

however these scenarios are almost impossible. either way it will rise up another type of mass communication in order to control us and that to can be used for ATS purposes, like the internet. the single "setback" of the internet is that it is impossible to control. it is like the thinking of men. it brought us together to think as one about an extreme amount of issues in extreme amount of ways. generally it represents humanity. any attack against this system is an attack against our thoughts.

believe me when i say that humanity will find its way, if it is not to late. so dont let anyone enslave your thinking, it is your most precious weapon against the NWO. question anything, think like no one else, go forth and differ.

Ive been thinking of buying one of those hand cranked / solar powered radios actually. It seems like a good thing to have when the power goes out in a lot of places, but there is still people transmitting from somewhere else.

I've been watching this and similarly focused topics here on your site for some time, and would like to add a few thoughts gained through direct personal experience.

Firstly, there need be no overt concern for closure of your beloved interweb locality. With regard to your often rebellious topics, it is far more valuable to observe such chatter than it is to remove it.

Secondly, there need be significant concern amongst reactionary groups that muster both on line and off. I can say with absolute certainty that a significant number of such groups have been heavily infiltrated by, and influenced by, provocateurs. As many of the more astute observers here have written, the goal is to direct these groups toward ultimately self-destructive behaviour.

Your posts tell me that you may have some insider information or you are full of it.

Why the dramatic secrecy?
Who are you?
Who were you or are you working for to gain all of this wicked insight?

I'm just hoping, in case there is a sudden shutdown that there is a backup made of this place regularly for future reference.

ATS is something special and a great source of ideas and items of interest.

If it were to shutdown unexpectedly, well. Dare I saw it, a revolution would be in order, yes? Then again a revolution wouldn't be spoke so openly so shhh Naz!

Take care and peace,

Yes, I have been, or am, in a position to be aware of certain strategies and initiatives of which I speak. Not that I support such stratagem, but we all find ourselves in employment that initially seemed sublime, but due to "management realignment" is no longer so.

While the fear of reprisal is congenital characteristic of the conspiracy theorist, the actual danger is complex at best. For example, with regard to the highly outspoken individual theorists, "they" will first seek to discreetly influence their rhetoric before anything else. And if direct efforts fail (they rarely do), other strategies come into play, with consideration of "silence" being isolated extreme exceptions.

why you all have to think low tech?? why?

you all dont have to be that stupid to use the most commonly available technology and also the most vulnerable one. i let myself believe that in these very moments we'll experience the dawn of a new type of thinking and technology. so why not use something like that? i believe some of you already know what i am talking about. it is quite easy if u try not to think on your physics class. any information you need is out there on the internet. u just have to use it.

aim: implement and use any anomaly in physics and you will find the world a "bit" different of what it really is. attack them with knowledge and understanding, not with your guerrilla or communist mentality. not for the entire human race but for the person next to you, not to kill but to educate.

they as well use your own mind against you. they dissipated your hunger for knowledge.

it's time to take it back. a whole universe is waiting for us, and NOT for Bush.
