An evolutionary theorist from the London School of Economics has caused controversy by suggesting that the human race will reach its physical peak by the year 3000 and will then split into two different species, one perfect elite race and one regressed race of small ugly goblin like creatures.

Oliver Curry has forwarded his theory, the Bravo Evolution Report, based on sexual selection and an increasing move to use technology to enhance physical attributes and life expectancy.

Yes, that's true. I do not advocate any type of predjudice and this would be a future chalked full of it. It would be a very bad thing.

I do ever so strongly feel that equality is the right road for Utopia. I'm not praising this plan and I hope it doesn't come across that way.

I just think it's and intriguing idea.

Yo I've been hearing theres technology being worked on and developed right now that will be completed in 20-30 years, which will use nanotechnology to literally clean almost every cell in our bodies, causing a reversal or prevention of aging effect that, when administered every decade or so, could potentially keep a person alive and feeling well exponentially, until something killed them.

Oliver Curry teaches political theory, not evolutionary science.

He was paid to write this rubbish by the Bravo TV channel - a trashy tabloid satellite channel which mainly broadcasts soft porn and monster trucks:

That's why it's called the "Bravo report".

They petty much told him what to write in exchange for cash then used the report to publicise some new programme (it worked as all the UK tabloids covered the story).

It's not based on any science, he just made it up as he went along and defended himself later by saying "it was a just a bit of fun". Not sure some of his colleagues at LSE found it very amusing.

Oh yes friend. We have been dominated by Eugenicists. In 2020, we will be 2 different species, and one race wont be able to keep up with the master race. This is how they will de-populate. The trans-humans of the post human movements are promised longer lives. But this system is designed to progress into absolute tyranny and control. Those who can afford it and the educated ones will be promised eternal life.

This is frekin garbage. It would only be a matter of time before the "goblin" class got their hands on the same technology and used it too. Be it through mass producing the technology and making it cheap enough for the lower class or through stealing by the lower class, there would be no way to maintain exclusive control of it.

This isn't even to mention that by the year 3000 (prob sooner) machines will be serving man not man serving man.

It's nonsense to believe that in only 3000 years humans will split into two different species. Evolution takes tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years to happen.

3000 years from now all our descendants will still be homo sapiens. 10000 years from now as well.

Actually, the article says by the year 3000, NOT in 300 years. And I'm sure to accomplish something like that within this short time frame, it will most certainly require human interference.

A Gattica type scenario would shure speed this up.

This is cause for a major revolution. The Goblins will be the so-called terrorists that will be bombing the homes of the elite, kidnapping, theft, more explosions, it will be HELL for those elite, oh yeah and more explosions.

If it pans out like H.G Well's Time Machine the Morlocks end up eating the pretty humans (Eloi) but I really dont want my decendants turning into Morlocks or even goblins for that matter lol.

If however certain branches of humans move off of earth and have to adapt to life in space in giant colony ships then I could see rapid evolution and a very different human from what we are. If I was on a colony ship I would want to be able to have natural defences from radiation, be able to survive exposure to the vaccum of space and have a really long lifespan that required little resources to maintain. In the near future cybernetics and nano tech are the only things that can change anything we would notice.

The Goblins rebel and kill most of the elite. Elite is generally a minority, so they'd be vastly outnumbered.

This was on the TV a while ago... Something about a race of tall, slender intelligent overlords, and short ugly goblin minions. I recall a comment about the "Tall people's sneery propaganda unit" on a comedy show.

Surely the "elite" would eventually lose their mobility/physical function for mental function anyway, and be helpless.
