I'm going to assume you mean CDMA because companies that used TDMA switched to GSM in which case your original question makes no sense.
Really depends where you are.
GSM is usable (assuming tri band or at least bi band) around the world (for the most part). As CDMA is more just a USA thing. CDMA (from what I have
experienced) was much faster and clearer than GSM.
But as far was which technology to go with. Really both are going to offer basically the same thing. You'll be able to talk on your cell phone in
most places but in the country I noticed CDMA worked better for me. But for in town places, GSM will be just as good.
Never really had a problem with GSM or CDMA. I just happen to be on CDMA now. Both worked fine.
