"No money for kids' health insurance, no money to help poor families pay their heating bills but President Bush wants $190 billion additional for 2008 for his wars in Iraq and Afghanistan," CNN commentator Jack Cafferty said Monday. "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says the president's new request means the cost of Iraq war is now approaching $650 billion. I wonder if the Democrats will give him the money."

Is Bush an American or an Iraqi?

He's more interested in the war than he is about any problems here at home!

With the current funding that helps struggling families pay for heating oil at $2.16 billion, only 16% of the households that are eligible for this help (there are 38 million households eligible) would be able to receive it due to lack of funding. Only $300 million has ever been added to the fund since the program was started in 1991. And yet he refuses to approve an extra half a billion dollars to help poor Americans heat their homes.

Bush's plan for this program?

He wants to CUT funding DOWN to $1.76 billion in the year 2008!!!!!

Where oh where ARE his priorities??

I wonder if we would have won WW2 with thinking like this?

Americans in that generation made huge sacrafices in that era, all for the war effort. They would have gladly sacrificed a little heat in the winter for the war effort.

But now people want the military to sacrifice in order to keep the people a little warmer?

Where are Americans priorities??

The answer to the "heat or eat" is.....

Get a freaking job and support your family! Stop relying on government for your bare neccessities. Instead of taking advantage of free heat during the winter...take advantage of our free education system, and other programs designed to better yourself.
