Strange pics from alcatraz

My friend last year during the summer went to visit alcatraz in San Francisco. He took about fifty pictures with his camera and doing so two pics stood out to him. These two pictures were in a jail cell where you can notice there something in it. My friend said there was no glass in front of the cell or any kind of mirror or glass around. I was hoping anyone can explain the images in these two pictures. From what I can see in the images are poeple in the cell.

Look close. See the plexiglass? Your friend lied. It's clearly visible in the pictures (at least the one in focus it is) Just reflections. You can see the zipties holding the plexiglass in place around some of the bars, and the glass on the bottom half of the bars. See where the reflection cuts out on the top? Now follow that line across and you can see the edge of the glass all the way across the cell. Cool effect though.
