I don't think I could make a very accurate prediction at this point. I would like to say that I believe Dr Paul will draw more positive attention
from the mainstream as the election nears. He's gotten a lot more respect recently just from pulling $5 million in the last quarter. Seems like I've
heard less about Giuliani lately, or else I'm just filtering out whatever it is I do hear about him. Last thing I remember hearing about him was that
the Catholics were considering dropping their support for him based on his views on abortion. That would have a significant impact on how he fairs.
All other Republicans seem to run together in my mind. To me, Ron Paul stands out for obvious reasons, Giuliani choses to remind everyone he was mayor
of NYC during 9/11 rather than actually debating the issues, then it just seems like there's everyone else (with maybe the exception of McCain, only
because he has the Presidential look, and Mitt Romney just looks like a con-artist to me
).
As for Democrats, I'm fairly sure it will come down to either Obama or Clinton getting the nomination. Personally, of the two, I tend to lean more
toward Obama. It may just be that he seems more personable, or that the average person, I think, can identify with Obama more than with Hillary. But
who knows?
Overall, as the elections approach and more average people start getting interested in the issues, the fact that Dr Paul stands out among all other
candidates, Rep and Dem, will, I believe, be to his advantage.
I'll take a stab at the two candidates... Obama vs McCain
Who I'd like/hope to see up there... Obama vs Paul
