Hi

It's a xbox live vision cam like that guy in the vid.
unscrewed its lens and opend its housing, removed the coated piece of glass. It's this coating on the glass that blocks IR light.

Then i used a piece of magnetic floppy disk material in place of the glass.
This is to block visible light and still allows IR light to sneak in.
Most webcams have this piece of glass and some have a coating inside the lens. Depends on the cam.

Im going to try a piece of pure black exposed negative film that blocks some more visible light and get better results.

Without blocking visible light the cam is pretty useless in sunlight but it works a lot better in low light conditions.
Colors tend to look a bit funky though

I too have my cam like that, but watching the sky with it really gets boring. I've never picked up anything not visible to the human eye, so good luck! I even made a IR flashlight

Hi Cyber_Wasp and TrappedSoul

Yeah it can get pretty boring but im trying to get that fixed !
I set it up on a spare computer and set it to record when ever
there is motion going on.
I checked it once or twice a day
Picked up some birds and planes and a few times nothingness
where there was nothing visible but the cam activated.

But since (afaik) there is nothing Nuclear going on in my direct vicinity i
dont really think i will see much. These things tend to happen more often in area's with Nuclear things like plants, weapons, mining and storage from what i've understood

Hi guys, I want to thank you for doing some pro-active research into this thing! I'm gonna dig out my camera and use some of your ideas, (wife's been buggin me for months to find and charge that thing up anyway). I'll post if I spot anything, too. For the guy who commented about nuclear plants, I'm in Sacramento and we have a nuke plant just outside of town, near Galt I think. I'll point it in that direction and see what I see. Cheers!

Hey TrappedSoul, Jeroenske & Flux8 !!!!!!!

Keep up the good work. It is amazing what can be modified these days if you look around on the net. There are guides everywhere. Technology moves on and stuff becomes worthless overnight. I am still looking around for a 'donor camera'....lol
Infrared just seems to be the best method for anyone to use to get something on film that is not easily identified. It also makes sense that advanced objects would not be seen in the visible spectrum of human eyesight to me anyway.
Just search Youtube for 'IR UFO' or 'Infrared UFO' and see that this area is growing rapidly.

Keep at it and post anything that you capture.
