Yeah, Bush's judgement calls always SO accurate, he saw his "soul" if I remember correctly. Lack of a soul is probably more accurate.

Maybe he just sees somebody who will be happy to make all kinds of secret shady deals with him.

McCain in 2007:
When I looked at Putin's eyes I saw 3 letters: K, G & B

Guess he'd know better than any of us. I'm sure he's had his nipples pinched by a few KGB agents in the Hanoi Hilton.

Oh, come on!
What is Pres Bush going to say to the world? Even if he "saw" something different, it wouldnt be proper for him to say it.

Can you imagine if Pres Bush said "I looked into his eyes and saw a horrible man".

I mean, when I look in my own mother's eyes I see something different then what I would admit to people.

We question our leaders when such profound statements are made. I for one feel there is much more to this behind the scenes. Whether its all a ploy for the Iranians to befriend Russia and open up could be one plausable reason. If not then this rhetoric is quite alarming. For a leader to mention the possibility of World War 3 is quite significant, there was a change in Bush's tone. Not only this but Putin met with Rice before the trip and also Ehud Olmert after his trip to Iran. Something is going on i expect that we, the public are unaware of. As far as a new gen of nuclear weapons are concerned i think these claims are futile as deterant is already in place further enhancing it makes no difference...

Excellent analysis! Watch their steps and you know. The OP does exactly what the leaders want. It is as if Putin and Bush take your face in their hands and direct our focus on what they wantyou to see. What you should do is turn your head in the opposite direction. Watch where they come from and where they are going to. Be sure to not listen to their talk. They are deluding us.

When a leader says: "I am going to invest in weapons", he says, "you people and non-cooperative contries should be scared".
You reaction should be : not be scared and investigate why they are stealing money from their civilians. What are they investing in besides fear. Follow the money.
My guess for now is, they are heating this place up, so they are scared themselves and are investing in outlandish weapons to fight something else we shouldn't know about yet, or they want us to be scared to be able to start another stupid war and end some "innocent nations" for profit.

No matter how much I disagree with Putins politics and the kiddish game of musles is doing with Bush (both of them are idiots IMO), your comment is the most inmature and offensiv I've read in awhile. And NO, I'm not russian but can't help it when I read shameless comments like that. Not all russian girls are as you described and alot of them aren't that different from american girls. Maybe cutter and more beautifu but never less honest and educated. Shame on you !!!

The Soviet Union was actually the one who invaded. Russia was merely a republic of the Soviet Union.

That's why I posted it and not you, because it was my opinion. I never asked you what you'd rather have.

My post is for my opinion; your post is for your opinion.

Now that we've both posted our opinions, and were free to do so, It'd be great if you could leave the sarcastic attacks of my opinion out of your posts, when I never said one thing to you or about your opinion.

And it got so many stars because apparently people agree.

I wasn't advocating world destruction in that post. I was merely implying that I'm sick of the threats that go absolutely nowhere. It's a childish my dog is bigger than yours, my dad can beat up your dad screaming match that goes nowhere.

It gets tiresome and old and I'm sick of it. And that's my opinion.

If you aren't, great, feel free to explain. That's your right.

But respect mine also.

I guess it was one of those "hard hitting, fed up" statements that I didn't find much worth in. It's politics. It's nuclear geo-politics. It's how it's always been since the inception of nuclear weaponry. This has been a reality for 60 years and I don't agree with "just do it."

I thought I posted this in this forum but it was the Identical story.

So I guess that makes it alright huh?

Just because they go by a different name doesn't resolve them from invading another country, and they are no better than we are, so I don't think Putin's remarks should be given any respect. All IMHO.

I never said it makes it alright, nor did I say anything in regards to Putin's comments. All I was doing was saying it was the Soviet Union.

I guess what my point is that for whatever reason we have other world leaders accusing the US of the very same things they do. For example, the Iranian president is criticizing the US because Bush is threatening to attack Iran, when he just declared Israel should be wiped of the map. These guys, like our own POTUS are doing nothing but hypocritical criticism and deserve less respect than Rodney Dangerfield.

It makes you wonder how (and if you dare go there, why) do these representatives of our respective countries ever become our leaders?

This messages by Putin is meant for internal consumption in Russia. When he wants to make a statement to the international public it is clear, such as the recent warning about attacking Iran. And people try to decipher Putin as if he is some damn guy in the movie and you can't decide if he is good or bad. How about neither? He is a politician, and he does what most politicians in his place would do. And that is that. If he was some evil baby-eater and blood thirsty maniac, why is he wasting his time? He got the entire country under his control. You would think he wouldn't hold back on his own "erotic desires" and already invade someone.

If you want to judge Putin seriously then read about his history prior to coming to power, and the reforms he has introduced since 2000. Not that KGB - super spy bull# that keeps being touted in every single Putin thread, but factual information. And if you wish to judge him by how he looks.... Well just look at Stalin, or Musharaf, or Khruschev. These guys look like your average neighborhood grandpa who buys milk for homeless cats everyday. Seriously - by looking at Musharraf minus his regular military uniform, would you guess that this is one of the most hated and feared dictators in the world?

He actually said the Zionist regime should be wiped off the map. Not Israel.

But I agree about the hypocritical criticisms and threats. They all do it. Ahmadinejad, Putin, Bush, they're all criminals and hypocrites.

This message by Putin is meant to keep Russia in the spotlight, because it seems Russia is a little attention hungry lately.

Well those are contradicting statements.

Not even Hitler started a war without provocation. Sure, it was staged. But it was still the justification he needed.

And lose China as an ally and exposing what ever upper hand advantage they may have against the US military right now?

No.

Such as?

Last time I checked, Russia isn't some flourishing free democratic republic whom holds civil liberties and human rights to the highest of standards.

So what reforms are you referring to?

Of course they are, since the US is bombing their way all around Russia for Geo-political reasons. If you see an armed man in your garden, wouldn't you take out your gun - just for precautions?

Last time I checked, the US is even worse.

What's going on with that anti-Russia talk here on the forum lately? Really, get used to it: Every country has the right to arm and defend itself against any aggression or provocation. Provocative actions of the US are the reason why Russia is "a little attention hungry".

No, that's not the reason why the US called them "crazy Ivan". Do your research

Man,

I'm just happy that there's a few countries out there with the brunt to trash talk back towards the U.S government. There has to be an equilibrium of power. Without it, the world simply won't work.

Putin, soon to be Prime minister, relegates dog style foreign politics. He's KGB and will always view outside states (eg Canada/USA/Britain) as threats, and he should. He's consistent.. dogmatic slur of when we need you to help Russia -- shoot we need you !! When he has any-type advantage watch out.

Let him and China hang out together. Part of the most important thing with the strange non-toilet paper nations, is they seem to think with their arse first-in-mind.
Putin's garbage. The penguin walker's a talker trying to appease Russian real power. Mafia.
