U2U pink, that is.

If ever a queston or concern please don't hesitate to ask

Dood! Mine's not pink! It's NOT PINK. Mine has turned yellow

I'm going to be O.K., right ?

Sorry if this question has already been asked but I don't have time to read five pages on a "board question" thread.

On my computer it looks like there is enough space for a couple of more buttons to the right side of the screen, above the search function. Does this have anything to do with the "dynamite" being "digital" on November 5th? Or is my page not fully loaded?

Just curious.

The change was because the other buttons were slowing down low speed internet users.

The space on the end has been speculated to possibly be for a "Launch" button for the "evolution", or perhaps a countdown clock. So far that hasn't been confirmed nor denied by staff.

Ok, since you put it that way. I reckon its not that bad. I suppose this once I can learn to deal with change.

Might that be because the average page takes too long to load?

Or because they had no intention or just do not want to post? .. Members become members to see the avatars, no adds ect..

In reality, the US is far behind the rest of the world in broadband access penetration. The vast majority of our new (never been here before) users in September are US-based.

Considering the US is the third most populated country in the world that does not surprise me. It would be easy for France (most populated EU nation) to have a higher percentage of users with Broadband with only 45million to accommodate.

Besides, its pointless, if you have a dial up connection you have to expect ANY page that loads to be slow!

Pick one, and only one:

I pick option A please.

A) Graphically rich environment that a few are comfortable with, thus not everyone is able to read what our members post.

And again, as it should be pointed out, probably 90% + of the CONTENT in which this site THRIVES ON comes from Broadband users.

Maybe its just I have no pitty for these cheap fools who refuse to get DSL or cable, I do not see why we should live with an ATS with ugly green buttons.
Here I thought you where going to make a brand new Green Matter or something, add even more graphic quality.

Perhaps, like many sites, you could offer a slow bandwith and high bandwith entrance.

Yes. We have quite a bit of email through the contact form over this issue. Those alone would not sway me... but combined with the raw data, it creates a need.

Jesus Christ.

Have you ever loaded the AOL homepage? How about MSN? Yahoo?

These dial up slugs would take 10 mins just to download their own homepage!

Just remember. You dampen OUR experience as active posters who make this site what it is to pander to the few who are technologically retarded.

Man, that's great.

(in a pathetic attempt to make this post worth something to avoid a point deduction) I agree with what you said about the low bandwidth and high bandwidth entrances

[sarcasm] OMFG! these new buttons are like so gay! they don't even have pictures! I really wish they like had pictures cause I'm to dumb to read what they say.[/sarcasm]

Seriously though i don't worry about it. I haven't been here that long, but I know Skeptic wont disappoint, he always manages to make stuff cooler.

Even though I'm new, I still liked the old buttons better, don't get me wrong though; the new ones are alright, too.

Personally, I would think that an experienced and tenured member, such as yourself, would Get It. That and could appreciate the overall desire to ensure that which we hold dear to be experienced by as broad an audience possible. (?)

By using CSS buttons as opposed to images, the pages load more quickly for slower connections. Your's included, no matter if it be a T1 on 'roids... due to faster server response resultant from a lightened pageload and fewer image/http calls.

I'd wager that Slow drivers in the Fast lane draw a similar response. Eh?

Oh I understand for sure....

But..

When a dial up user loads a page.. what takes so long to load?

THE BUTTONS????? NOOOOOO I DONT THINK SO.

The buttons are just a tiny bit of the "problem" .. so if we are to be really friendly to these dialup users we should probably expect to see a few more ugly buttons all over the place.

You can count on it. Maybe they will take away our bars again.
But it won't be left to just the buttons.

Nice job guys, I like em. They look kind of futuristic.

I was wondering why there seemed to be bugs in the forum codes before. Looks like you fixed it
.

Thanks for the continuing improvements!

Ah-So... now we're getting somewhere. Apparently, this isn't about buttons or bars... or even avatars for that matter. It's the "take away" aspect... ain't it?

C'mon. Admit it. They gaveth and now they Taketh Away.
Bastaads. huh?

Actualy neither have been taken away, they've just evolved in a manner which best supports an ever growing Community.

If it matters:
I get in my car. I turn the key. It starts and takes me where I need to go, but the wife and kids have changed the buttons on the radio... now THAT ticks me off.

Who in the world uses dial up nowadays? My dad tried that and I couldn't even make his home page come up before I fell asleep. I'm serious the crap is so slow that I would rather run to the papers head quarters and ask them what has happened today lol.
If you want to save band with then get rid of all that stuff about reptilians, All those videos are ridiculous and waste peoples brain cells. Any person with half a brain can see a messed up video and the other tenth see lizards lol.

Who said anything about bandwidth? There's bandwidth a plenty.

The change in links/buttons, from images to CSS, is more to decrease pageload times for ALL users, and to the benefit of even those with broadband connections... faster server response(s).

A win:win for ALL, if only some would realize such.

Um....did anyone notice you can now login on the home page?

That's an improvement....perhaps soon we'll be able to login once, on the home page and be hooked into ATS, BTS, and AP, for a more seamless experience. *hint*hint*

That'd be really cool!

I guess I'm used to the new buttons already, I just went to BTS, where the old buttons are still up at this time, and now they all look like cartoons.

If it came down to huge wicked cool avatars or buttons with cartoons on them, guess which way I'd vote?
