Why Aliens Havn't Shown Themselves to us yet

Hey All.
Thought I'd start an interesting topic for my first thread

As I have stated in my Signature : I have a certain beleif as to why ET's dont show themselves or land on the white house lawn for the whole world to see.

Through a few years of research I have done, and hours of deductive Reasoning : I have come to beleive that Aliens and UFO's are :

A) - A REAL Phenomenon & They are really here.

B) - These Extra-Terrestrials must have Certain rules about interfering with Civilizations who do not have Warp, or Light-Speed Capabilities.

Heres the scenario I've Thought through, and used in my argument to answer the question - 'If Aliens are Here, where are they?'

Say for example, If we travelled many lightyears across the galaxy in an advanced Starship, and we found a world very similar to our own.
On This Planet, we Find a Large Quantity of Life. Thousands of Differant Species, with one happening to be Intelligent. Would we simply touch down and say "Hi there!"?

No.

We would Monitor this society and learn what we could before making any decisions. If they turned out to be less technologicaly advanced than ourselves, would we Even want them to see us, with our advanced technology? Probably not. If a technologicaly Inferior species learned of our presence around their planet : They may consider us hostile, or even start firing weapons at us. The One way to avoid this would be to use Cloaking devices, or Natural Elements as Cover, so That the Population would not detect us.

And Even if the Population is peaceful and Utopian in design : Their Learning of our existance would raise a question Amongst them.
"Why dont they teach us how to travel the stars like they do? Why do they let us sit here with Inferior Technology instead of Helping us advance?". This may create Mis-Trust and Paranoia against our species. If we show up and say Hi - They would probably want peices of our technology for their Societys Benefit.

I beleive that in the Galaxy : There is a rule. A Society is deemed fit to join the Galactic Neighbourhood when they develop their own methods of Interstellar Travel. When we start travelling at Light Speed, I beleive that first ship will receive hundreds : If not Thousands of Messages from other societies across the stars.

To sum up my whole point : Its like handing a Fire-Cracker to a Baby. You know it will just hurt itself. Whats the best way of avoiding this? Dont Let the baby know the fire-cracker exists until it has Matured to a point when you know it will not hurt anyone, or itself.

When We Crack interstellar Travel & Come together as a species : They will say Hello. Until then : our society is the equivelant of a toddler who has shown a tendancy to be a fire-starter.

In my opinion, we need to be able to prove that extraterrestrial life exists in the first place before we can start to contemplate why they haven't "shown themselves yet."

Its already an extreme amount of proof, but because of the mindset that "they cant exist", some people have severe problems accepting the evidence. Just check our history. Cave paintings, paintings, statues and so on clearly showing UFO's and aliens.

I believe most people havent even looked at whats out there, yet still have the opinion there are no aliens and no cover up. Then you also have to take into account the sheer amount of people who actually get paid to ridicule the UFO's and try to disturb discussions about them.

Google Battle of LA for example. Thats when the cover up started, but before that they were seen in the sky all the time. The nazis even experimented and tried to build their own, and the technology and scientists were shipped to USA after the war.

And yes, humans would be a danger to everybody out there right now with our current idiotic mindset of death and destruction as a way to solve problems. I hope they take active measures to prevent us from going out there.

I'm working this theory off the Assumption that at least ONE of the Millions of UFO sightings worldwide is true.

Hey - There may absolutley nothing up there at all - But with all of the evidence we have so far in the form of radar reports, Video Footage, Infra-Red Footage, Photographs & Eyewitness Accounts : And a great number of them from Credible (sometimes Military) sources : I am very inclined to beleive that there is a lot more going on than the average joe on the street is necessarily being made aware of.

Given there are no Dead Alien Corpses or UFO's on Display in any museum, and None of the Mainstream Science Community have had a scrap of Physical Debris or ET Contact - But surley Craft like theirs would VERY rarely crash.

If them Aliens are in fact more advanced don't you think they have passed the stone age mentality?

"Be peaceful, don't harm", like all stone age people did? Jesus, Buddha et c? I think they will be more advanced and have a more "modern" point of view, that we are in fact animals and need to kill to survive.

I'm just saying that if them Aliens show up on Gods green Earth, they will have to face my shotgun, and 2 billion other Christians. and 1 billion terrorists devil worshipers. et c.

Any race who have the capability to travel the stars also have the technology to kill themselfs very easily. The fact that they havent done so shows that they have evolved spiritually and solved their problems in other ways.

Your way of fanatic Christian thinking is dangerous to world peace, and keeps us in the dark age.

I neither believe in Aliens, God, or Satan. But I do believe there are many people who spread disinfo, and many people who take their beliefs to the extreme.

if aliens are traveling the vast distances of space ( which i dont believe is possible ) a shotgun would be laughable. my personal reason as to why aliens don't show themselves is they don't exist at least in the visiting earth sense of the word.

To some..an arsenal (note the first 4 letters) of shotguns mounted on trucks is the answer.

I had an arsenal for a while, but that was to combat internal worldly forces if marshall law were to ever be implemented. Simply for freedoms sake. Shotguns and Aliens is an old Hillbilly idea from the 30's. People who still have this mindset should really take that shotgun to their own...nevermind. Not appropriate.

Sorry this is a compulsion I have, I cant help myself .

ALL of the UFO sightings (those that arent simply fabricated) are true AND real. Remember, UFO does not equate to aliens. Unidentified flying objects are seen wholesale across the planet on a daily basis. I know what you intended to imply with the above statement, it just irks me when people use whats probably the planets most openended descriptor (UFO) incorrectly.

Welcome to ATS BTW. Theorizing is a blast, I can come up with some crazy junk sometimes but I'm a stickler for evidence unfortunately . Have fun here, theres lots to be had!

If theortically we did have a warp drive, are the aliens holding us back until we mature as a species? I've heard people say we are not ready to go to the stars yet because we are to savage/aggressive. I personally feel that holding humanity back, and forcing us to stay in our little "playpen" is only going to worsen the problem. If we developed this technology, it might be the joint exploration of space that brings us together as a species. I just think the longer they keep us caged up on Earth, the worse we will get. Opening up spaceflight to humanity would probably give us something new to focus our energy on besides killing each other.

I think your ideas or theories are pretty good. To be honest, I am not sure how we would communicate with other beings.

If the Bush administration was in office and found out there is tons of OIL on Mars. Bush would wiped out the terrorist..... I mean lesser advanced civilization and hump the ground for oil.

But all jokes aside, I think your idea is right on. Would you give a primitive civilization access to higher techology to only use it against you later?

Interesting idea, but this made me think:

Knowing how humans work, they would start conducting experiments like that planet was their own lab. It is a good thing we have not developed this ability yet. I think we need to figure out everything on Earth before we start jumping the gun on other planets lives. We recently discovered new species in the waters near the Asia region. What does this show? It shows we need to explore our own planet before going to another.
What we are doing is this, picture life as a movie. We are skipping important parts of the movie, and we are skipping only to the good parts.

That need not necessarily follow- imagine a race united in harmony as one people happy with their view of the world and their knowledge of the Cosmos. Eventually they discover the secret of space travel and to their utter horror discover they are not alone in the Universe and so, set about their God(s) great plan of cleaning away the detritus. Just a thought...
