South African Spec Forces

So I've tried looking these guys up and have not had much success, but from what I've heard the South African Special Forces are amazing, and I was just wondering if any of yall could help me out with my quest for information on them. Thanks in advance

I trained with an ex-member of the SA SF in a private sector/le role. This specific gentlemen was switched on. It was very clear that he had extensive knowledge and experiece in all forms of martial/weapons arts. I was impressed and and in the same group was Seals/LE Specialist. Very comparable in abilities overall. Hope this helps.

Well, I happen to live in south africa, and I can tell you that our army/police force is somewhat of a joke.If there IS a special forces Im sure it wont add up too much.

Maybe there is some kind of "hired gun" special force team which bodygaurds etc.

Other than that, I would'nt be comparing it to navy seals etc.

However, I could be totally wrong, in which case, find out more and let me know, it will be pretty interesting to check out.

Been through half of Africa, to included SA, and haven't seen anything special yet. Seriously, for soldiers that don't work at night, hide from the rain, and sh** where they eat, I was not impressed. Now if you're talking old Rhodesian soldiers, that's a different story.

Majestikc, I have no idea how old you are, nor how long you've lived in SA, but reference the SAP/SAPS search the net for spesiale taakmag or SAPS STF.
A dedicated, professional unit who are a credit to the country.
For the army you should look for Reconnaissance Commando, Recces or now the SANDF SF Bde.
You'll be impressed.


Xm3user, from your comments you've definitely had nothing whatsoever to do with the Recces.

Things must have changed quickly then, because I left SA in July, but you must be correct judging from your vast experience.
