At about 1 am est Thursday 10-11-07, from my back deck I happened to look up, almost due east at about 40 degrees above the horizon I saw what looked like the planet Venus.
If you've ever looked, you know that venus, when low in the sky, can sparkle very brightly with a multitude of changing colors. Almost like seeing a brightly lighted Christmas tree from say, several hundred yards slowly rotating.
All the colors were brilliant, and pulsing. Red, green, and blue were predominate.
I thought, "venus. Sure is bright tonight."
Then I noticed another 'venus' above and to the left of it. Then another venus to the right. They formed a triangle, point down.
All remained in formation, not moving for about 5 minutes.
So I started thinking, 'it's late, I'm tired, cold, they're just stars Ive never noticed before'.
Then the 'venus' on the right began to drift to the right, slowly.
I had to focus on it to see if it was really moving.
Yep. It drifted behind a tree branch.
I couldn't believe it yet I was so tired, that I just couldn't stay to watch anymore and went to bed.
I waited until last night to check the sky again but could not stay up 'til 1 am in the cold. However, as I suspected, at around 11.00pm, they were not there.
Keep in mind these were big bright sparkling 'things' and could NOT be missed if you knew where to look.
Gone.
They were each about twice the size of venus, or about 1/2 the size of your pinkie fingernail at arm's length.

So, that was the 3rd sighting I've had since I was 9 years old.
I can't believe I didn't at least go get some binoculars, but as I said, I was too tired and could stay up no longer.
Oh well, I was thinking, they'll be back, and I'll just stay up and get the telescope next time. That was my rationale for going to bed. Stupid.
Guess I blew it. I can't believe I went to bed....
Well, you can be sure I'll be watching tonight.

Well...There has been some reports about ufos in a triangle formation, but it depends on location. I think this takes place in the south, but just to be sure, location please.

Really?
Where? Was it a news report, and were they like those I saw?
In the wash. DC metro area.

Of course with how fast these things are supposed to go, I'm sure they could be anywhere in a matter of seconds or minutes.
I'm assuming spacecraft here 'cause I've never seen anything hover or sparkle like that before, let alone three of them. And they must have been huge. Just a feeling I get. No way to be sure of the size tho. There was no sound.

I'll quote a post that I've made on a previous thread here.

Though around '95 (I think) I saw 3 lights/stars that looked like typical satellites. Well, except for the fact that they were all moving together in the same direction in very close proximity to eachother. They were almost in a line (not perfectly) and pretty much equally distanced from one another. The brightest one was in the middle.

So I thought "Oh wow, 3 satellites together all going in the same direction!". But then um, yeah... The one in the front stopped, then the middle one carried on past the first to stop and then the last did the same. They were now spaced out in a perfect triangle and were completely still. They remained that way for quite a while. I don't recall actually seeing them move again after that. I was quite young then, probably around 9 or 10, so early bedtime etc.

As far as I know, satellites can't just stop either. Unless this was some sort of geo-stationary satellite deployment involving some of our craft that I saw?
