I'm not sure if this is the right thread it looks like the best one to me. Sometimes when i'm just sitting around watching T.V. or skatboarding or even at school, i get these weird pictures that i see. I know that they are in my mind but even with my eyes open, i focus on them so much that everything else is kind of blurry. Sometimes they are a quick flash and other times they are really long. one time during 9th period at school i had one that lasted like 20 min. and i focused on it so much that i don't remember what the teacher was saying. i'm not sure that this is paranormal it is most likely just in my head.

I have this too.
i have these episodes on a regular basis
it doesent realy worry me and i think it is quite normal
i suffer from ADD and i think that with me it has something to do with that
i wouldent be to woried if i where you

what i also have are things poping up in the corner of my vision out of nowhere
and when i look over in that direction, they disapear
sometimes it looks like somthing is moving there,at other times it apears to be an image of somthing random shown very briefly,i have never realy been able to actualy see what it was tho
all i know is that i have this all the time, night or day, light or dark
and sometimes it rely freaks me out and gets me paranoid
i wonder if anyone else has had any experience with this or knowledge or opinion they are willing to share?

excuse my English,i am from Belgium

Digital... nothing to apologize for... your English is a lot better than many people on this board who were raised speaking it.

In regards to the problem both you and Cory describe, I would suggest consulting a physician if this is happening on a regular basis.

It is completely normal to see movement from the corner of your eye that is not really there, or some other forms of visual hallucination, when you are extremely tired, near the point of exhaustion. Also certain drugs will do this. I used to indulge in Ecstasy and would always see shadows or shapes moving at the edge of my vision when under the influence.

Long-term visual hallucinations could be the symptom of an underlying medical problem though. A trip to the doctor should be considered.

There is a perfectly safe and reasonable answer for this. I still have bouts with it, and my wife says I'm ignoring her. It's called daydreaming, and as I recall, it is caused by being bored in school.

Seriously, if it's a bother, do see a doctor, just in case it's something serious.

no i'm not worried, even when i'm doing something interesting and i think it's just in my mind it just is weird. it isn't day dreaming believe me i day dream alot in school.

@ NGC2736: i know what you mean,it happens to me a lot too
but the thing i'm trying to discribe is really not the same thing
i tend to let my mind slip often, but this happens even when i'm concentrated and working on something (eg,cooking, cleaning the house, doesnt realy matter...)

@ craig732: first of,thank you

i actually have gone to the doctor, and even went to see a shrink...
their conclusion: "i'm sorry sir,but we can't seem to find anything that's wrong with u..."

250€ down the drain for nothing
maybe i must add that i use canabis on a daily basis.i do this right before i go to sleep every night because i have been a very bad sleeper since birth, and am allergic to most commonly used sleeping medicines, and smoking one joint before i go to sleep seems to be the only thing that actually works
However,i must point out that i have been doing this since i was 16 and i am now 23 and have never ever had any complaints about it
not even a headache or a dry throat in over 7 years
also,i only smoke ONE a day(night actualy),simply because i do not feel the need for any more
i can honestly say i'm not addicted to the stuff and i can stop doing it anytime i want...only then i would hardly ever sleep,so that's why i still do it
however, these things happen when i'm high or stonecold sober alike
i really see this stuff ALL THE TIME
anyway,in my case, nobody seems to have an explanation for this stuff
which is why i'm bringing it up here, because have only recently started posting here, but have been reading up on ATS for a couple of years now,and i think that there's a larger chance that, seeing the combined experiences people here on ATS have,i will find someone who can tell me,or at least help me find out what's going on...

i strongly suggest you also read my storry i posted on another thread by coryblood, this happened last night and it really freaked me out...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

@ coryblood:don't ask me why but i'd like to thank you
reading your posts has given me the little courage i lacked for coming out and telling my story.

people have always ridiculed me about telling such things, even when they where important to me,but somehow, here on ATS i feel safe sharing these experiences,so i guess i should say thank you all actually...

Hi,

First off I just want to applaud Cory Blood and Digital Disaster for being brave enough to openly discuss this very personal topic (I would be too scared).

I wish I could offer more advice but all I can say is try to meet a psychic medium (someone that can sense spirits) as it sounds like you have tried conventional methods for an unconventional problem and I am sure it would cost less than 250 euros.

I would be very interested to hear about the sort of visions/images that you see/receive as it might help nail down the root/cause.

On a personal note I have seen/caught movement out the corner of my eye before but I only ever had it happen in certain places i.e. somewhere I work or live. Do yours happen randomly or only in places you spend a lot of time?

Thanks and good luck.

first off, thank you very much,i was scared at first to talk about this but then i just figured if i never ask the question i'll never get an answer either

i'm not verry sure i want to call these things spirits or ghosts in any way tho
because i do not realy believe in such things,i do however believe in telekinesis and stuff like that and i am for some reason convinced that it is impossible for us to be the only living planet in space, altho these things have nothing to do with the topic on hand

as for when or where i have this, this is very much at random really
during the night as well as during the day,and as well inside as outside of my home.about the only time i don't have them is when i'm driving my car, altho i'm not sure if i really don't have them then,or if i'm just not noticing them because i'm trying to wach so many things at the same time (u know, dashboard, rear view mirrors,etc...)

@ coryblood: how often does this happen to you,and where?
has this been going on for a long time or is it just recently you have started to notice these things?

i don't know if this can be of any information but i feel i should ad it anyway
i also remember that when i was a little younger,i have had a few (don't really know how to say this in English) returning dreams, tho i can't recall what they where about now,it was a long time ago,and the number of things on my mind has become rather large lately
i also had the kind of dreams before where you dream about something happening, and somewhere in the next few days it actually happens
nothing mayor so far,but it's just all of these little things, right?

a big thankyou to all of the posters on this thread so far

and if anyone else has had experiences with this, please post it here

it just started happening about a week or two ago, it is at ranom times and places and it's almost like a dream after about an hour i forget what the image was. i should have a pen and a piece of paper and write down what it is. oh and the word you are looking for is reacurring dreams. i too have smoke pot, actually really hevily this past winter, but over the summer i just stopped nothing addictive in it, MODS i am i no way promoting doing drugs.

posted on Oct, 11 2007 @ 04:14 PM

i smoke weed because it helps me sleep,i don't smoke it to get high
it's not addicitive as long as you know what you're doing and why you're doing it
i will never EVER promote the use of soft or hard drugs alike

anyway,

@ coryblood: yes, that would be a good idea, try writing down the things you see and the times when you see them,i will do the smae here and maybe then we can compare to see if we can find out something this way

also,i was reading another one of your threads, coryblood, the one where you talk about your precognitive dreams and stuff...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

now here's the funny part, we seem to be on the same wavelength somewhere because i have been asking these same questions for a while now,and yesterday,i posted something on this subject in the other thread we are discussing, now the funny thing is that the first thread i came across after i posted this, was the "predictions in your dreams" thread...it might be farfetched, but i find it more than a little bit curious that you are asking the same questions that i want to or already have asked

don't get me wrong now,i'm not trying to say you're trying to hoax us or something, actually i'm trying to say exactly the opposite of that...
that somehow we seem to be going trough a lot of the same stuff at nearly the same time

i strongly urge our fellow ATS members who have also had these kinds of sightings to come forward and speak up,i think we could be on to something...and if we're not, nobody can blame us for trying, right?

They are often (mis)labeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and also Autism.[16][17][18]

Source: wiki.

Tons of indigo/crystal kids are being misdiagnosed with ADD. Have a look at the above link and see if you think you may fit the profile. I know its kind of generic and may fit a lot of people, and its considered a pseudoscience, but still.

Many people have pointed out that it fits "most people" though. I agree it fits most people I know that are "searchers", that is, people who are into the stuff we discuss on this site. The list fits me too to a degree.

I do not have any paranormal abilities though, just a curious mind and a drive to know more.

i was just looking at the wiki about this, and there happens to be a sort of "checklist" on there which talks about the characteristics of these people.

i will post this here and honestly fill it out with answers which discribe my own personality so we can compare

-estimates are that 97 percent of children under ten and 70 percent of those age 15 to 25 are "Indigo."
i'm 23,so i would fit the age category

-They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it).
no i don't,i'm actualy the oposite of that,a very normal person, and i know this verry well

-They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
never had that feeling before

-Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
i don't live with my parents anymore, but i do have a very strong feeling about who i am and what i do.

-They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
i HATE authority, can't stand other people telling me what to do

-They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
i have tons of patience,as long as it is for something that i'm really interested in.as for waiting in line,i tend to get mad if it takes too long.

-They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
i have always had a tendancy of doing things MY way, even the most ridiculously everyday tasks

-They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system)
when i was in school,i used to have fights with the teachers about this kind of stuff all the time

-They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
true,i tend to keep to myself a lot, unless i'm with people that seem to understand what i'm trying to say and who i am.

-They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did")
this kind of 'threat' if you can call it that, has never ever scared me

-They are not shy in letting you know what they need
true,i will ALWAYS say what's on my mind

(continues in next post...)

-They are highly sensitive, both emotionally and physically, and most suffer from a low self-esteem.
i used to have very low self esteem, but that's mostly gone now
i am however always very aware of what people around me theire emotional situation is,even without asking

-Many have nervous system problems such as excessive anxiety, which is claimed to be linked to their higher vibrational frequency, and are also prone to depression.
no anxiety here, but i have had 3 mayor depressions in my life so far

-Many of them feel the need to make a significant difference in the world, and they believe or are fully aware of having a special or high purpose in life
hard to answer but true for some part

-They are truth seekers, who often hold to very unconventional beliefs or knowledge which they feel the need to promote or defend
i'm always looking for the truth, why do you think i joined ATS?

-They often have an insatiable curiosity, and love to ask questions as well as questioning everything around them
i used to overload my dad with questions when i was little.not the "why is the sky blue, daddy?" kinda questions, but rather the "how does a six-speed gearbox work, daddy?" kinda stuff, which my parrents have always found verry unusual for a 8 year old kid.

-They are naturally drawn to matters concerning mysteries, spirituality, the paranormal and the occult.
i have always shown a verry profound interest on these type of subjects

-They have great intuitive power.
not great, but pretty good none the less.

-They are often (mis)labeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and also Autism.
in my case,ADD,like i said before.

-Most have suffered a difficult childhood
it wasent exactly like walking on rosepetals, drinking fine wine,if you know what i mean (for those who don't,yes,i've been through a -lot- of sh*t...

-They often suffer from sleeping problems, such as insomnia, frequent nightmares, night terrors and sleep paralysis
like i said before,if i don't smake a joint before i go to bed,i would hardly ever sleep

-They are very empathic, and can easily detect or are in tune with the thoughts of others.
i'm often way ahead of others, yes

so now, what does this say about me,does anyone know?

ok now i'm gonna do this

-estimates are that 97 percent of children under ten and 70 percent of those age 15 to 25 are "Indigo."
i'm 15 so it seems about right-They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it).
i'm the opposite too i feel like every one is equal
-They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
i do i can't describe it very well but i don't think that only indigo children should be here if that's what they mean
-Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
when my parents TELL me to do something i will get mad at them, but if they ask me like a person i'm fine with it
-They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
i hate authority too i think that's why i'm an Anarco-punk
-They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
i hate waiting in line for almost anything but if it's for a close ffriend or family i wil do it
-They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
i do things how i want when i want and there's no changing that
-They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system)
like i said above i do things on my terms no matter what, i actually just kind of fought with a cop because he wanted to take my skateboard for something i didn't do
-They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
i'm usually quiet exept for when i'm with friends or family, like in class i'll be quiet unless the teacher does something against what i believe
-They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did")
my parents would actually get mad because i don't care if they put a guilt trip on me, last year i got arrested for fighting in school and they wanted to hide it, i didn't care if anyone in the world knew
-They are not shy in letting you know what they need
i may be shy but if you say something that goes against what i believe you are gonna get hell

i think alot of my rebelling will get me in trouble a lot when i'm older but i am who i am

-They are highly sensitive, both emotionally and physically, and most suffer from a low self-esteem.
i had low self esteem in 8th grade because a lot of people picked on me and that's when i decided i don't care what people think so now my self esteem isgood
-Many have nervous system problems such as excessive anxiety, which is claimed to be linked to their higher vibrational frequency, and are also prone to depression.
never had depression or anything like that

-Many of them feel the need to make a significant difference in the world, and they believe or are fully aware of having a special or high purpose in life
i think i should at least try to change the worl you know, try and get the facists out of our government, like i said in another post i am going to fight these people and probably die for my cause

-They are truth seekers, who often hold to very unconventional beliefs or knowledge which they feel the need to promote or defend
i want to know every thing i don't like to be told lies if my friends or family lie to me i get really mad, i only lie when i'm messing around with friends

-They often have an insatiable curiosity, and love to ask questions as well as questioning everything around them
i too ask many questions at this time i am having debates with my parents about how bad PPresident G.W. is

-They are naturally drawn to matters concerning mysteries, spirituality, the paranormal and the occult.
since 7th or 8th grade i have been reallyinto the paranormal i just stopped this past year and i'm thinking about getting back into it

-They have great intuitive power.
i trust my gut all the time if that's what they mean i don't really know

-They are often (mis)labeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and also Autism.
never had that i'm a healthy boy

-Most have suffered a difficult childhood
it wasn't really hard like we had money and stuff but i have been through some stuff, like my sister running away for a few days and stuff

-They often suffer from sleeping problems, such as insomnia, frequent nightmares, night terrors and sleep paralysis
over the summer i was basically an insomniac i was up all night at least twice a week when i really did want to go to sleep and now i am up until at least midnight almost every night

-They are very empathic, and can easily detect or are in tune with the thoughts of others.
i deffinately know what other people are feeling and almost thinking

wow man i guess you were right we are alot like each other

i also noticed how many things we i find us having in common when comparing my 15 year old self to you right now
that's what's bothering me most : there is NO difference what so ever, except for the ADD thing, and you having a sister and me being an only child.
