Is there any reason why we can't just sign into one Above network site then be signed into other sites as well?

Like I sign into Above Top Secret, then after browsing a bit goto BTS, and have to sign in there, why can't we just sign in and that be that? Or am I missing some option or reason here?

Because I remember 2 years ago being able to go between ATS and BTS just by signing into one.

Thank you

Lepracornman.

I've found that after you've logged in to ATS, BTS and PTS, and if your cookies work, you don't have to log in again. It's just a minor inconvenience, really.

ahh so it's cookies? I'm using Firefox, I'm gonna have a look at options here.
I think I was using IE 2 years ago, msot liekly, and they save all cookies As I am aware of..

I'm using FF, too. I think there's a separate cookie for each, ATS, BTS and PTS. Hence why you have to login again.

Don't ask me why it's that way. I'm just a regular member

Guess I'll camp it out for some technical assistance from the gods. *Prays for SkepticOverlord*

Long ago I came to the conclusion that having to manually log into each is by far the biggest thing undermining the 2 lesser sites. I know it's prevented me from digging into my email history to drag out the PW on many occasions when considering posting in them. Some of us use multiple PC's from different locations, on the same day even, and having to dig thru the email to get that 'old' PW out can be a total pain when you have to do it all the time. Its even prevented me from posting a reply to a response in one of my own threads at AbovePolitics because by the time I dug it out I would have been done with my post anyways. Then I inteded to do it when I got home and ended up off in some other things and forgot until it was basically pointless.

I, too, use FF and ran into this the other day. Seeing the LOG IN button was followed by WTH when did I log out?!!? Go back to my original thread, and there I was again.

Thanks for noticing this, thanks for posting this, and thanks for the explanations. I thought it was me.

Well, doing that little tweak on Firefox did nothing for me, I will try some other things, But I am most definitely not going back to IE, it's Satan reincarnated into a web browser.

I think it was announced that there was a single-signon solution, but it never worked for me. I have to sign in on the three sites separately if my cookies get erased etc.

I always thought it was odd having to sign in 3 times..
I clear cookies and cache quite often, due to various reasons..
and when ever I see a good thread in BTS i wanna reply to, i have to log in, then find that post again.

Surely, with everything ATS has now, they could figure away to make sure 1 sign in means all aspects?...

or is there a good reason im not seeing to why they dont?

I hear ya, Well, I think it is a Cookie thing if anything, but I am not sure, a one sign in thing would be really.. Appreciated, less Hassle For the Hoff. Think maybe there might be a security reason behind this?
