U.S. Outpaced by Medical-Record Projects Overseas

The United States lags behind some countries in creating a secure, electronic medical-record system. A look at state-run or state-sponsored programs in other nations:

Germany: The first country to begin development of a national health information technology network, Germany issues electronic health cards that carry names, dates of birth and insurance details. Prescriptions can be included on the card electronically. People can decide what, if any, personal medical information, such as drug allergies or chronic conditions, is stored on the cards.

Quite honestly if you are going to tit for tat, why universal manditory education and not universal manditory healthcare? Seems like a sick kid cannot learn much...it is like putting the cart before the horse.

Cable too, and High speed internet. How can a child compete in today's world without cable and high speed internet. Come to think of it, how would a poor child be able to compete with richer children in athletics with out the proper foot wear. Nike or another high quality shoe should be provided to all children free of charge.

Really all things should be free and no-one should have to work. After all work sucks and free stuff is good.

Of course I'm kidding, socialism leads to bloated, big, powerful, repressive government and always fails in the end.

Mmmmm... now that sounds kinda like what most of us in our free democratic nations have too, only ours are based on capitalism, which is good... right?

Actually, we are a constitutional republic, or we are supposed to be. We have a market (capitalist economy), or we're supposed to be. Prolem is we have lost our way, our current government is very socialist or at least virtually every federal government program is. Everytime government gives us something free, we pay for it with freedom, and they receive more power. They tend to protect their power, which leads to facism.
