I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with it. Setraline aka Zoloft is known to worsen suicidal symptoms (when they put me on that crap, it sure as hell didn't help). The drug was relatively new at the time so I would not be surprised at all if it was released without the psychiatrists having any idea at the time their patients would start killing themselves from not being monitored properly.
