Good site. I have been to a few of them, but the best was the Essex Mountain Sanatorium. I even found patient admission forms and a golf club that now resides in the trunk of my car. The place was filthy though as there was several inches of dust on the floors of the main building.

I used to be involved with a few other self described "urban explorers" but we stopped because of to many close calls with the police....we would try to enter and explore as many abandoned places as we could find...the spookier the better.but the scariest thing we ever encountered was homeless people
[no ghosts]we took cameras and paper to make notes and such..it was great fun..old factories are the best place to explore..there is so much stuff to get into and mess with we came back to one factory so many times I couldnt count..

There is a programme on sky tv each week called 'most haunted'.In each program they go to various haunted and spooky places but apart from the presenter freaking out at the slightest thing they haven't exactly found evidence of any ghosts etc yet

Although i now tend to view it as an entertaining history lesson

Cool website, exdog! And cool thread.

I love spooky place my self, I woould just love to explore so-called "haunted" place, or place where "paranormal" activity took place.

I did a few urban-exploring when I was younger, but mostly in abandonned factory and building...Nothing really strange tho.

There was this one place, in a abandonned cement factory, I know for sure that it was abandonned more than a year or 2 ago, since it is really close to where I live. Anyway, so we went in, explored around... and then found what looked like some kind of office, the only we saw around (in the factory it self, not the second building, wich we didn't get in, cuz it would have been too easy for neighboor to see us) So we got in the office, and there was some kind of OLD computer, still running??? And their was a pair of glasses on the desk.

Who'd left his glasses behind, and leave the computer on if they'd close the company or something?

Yeah, they got some AWESOME pics! The midnight society website is really interesting, I bookmarked it and will be sure to check it out, more in depht, when I'll have more time.

The pic of the second place, the "purgatory house" are really creepy! Why was all left behind, yet all the windows seem to have been remove??? How could people move out and let so many stuff behind is beyond my comprehension.

And the cars?!?!?!? WTF!!! And I think there was a perfectly good looking audi there! lol...

Damn...I wished there were more abandonned place around where I live...
hehehehehe...
