Incomplete enumerations (firstly), run-on sentences, missing punctuation, incorrect case (tell), redundant words (all different), incorrect premises (how English developed).

Very humorous.

As an example of composition, I’d give you a D minus, though I might give you a B plus for self-parody.

Are you an English teacher? Can you explain to me what a "dangling modifier" is?

Fueny enough I have a colledge level writting skill.. Yet I have to admit I only have a 6th grade spellin level...Due to my dyslexia. I see or write things backwards.. I see 23 and write 32.. Doh!!

Sorry in advacne for my horrid spelling.. If I make a thread I try to write it out in notepad, and then do spell check..

But many of the times I am writting I tend to just write in the box here, and then re-read my post, and hit the edit button for any mistakes..

I am only human.. and sometimes spelling is very hard for me.. Yet spelling I dont think should count aginst ones mental level..

English in itself too, is very hard lang.. something might sound differently than its spellered.. So I will Try more better, to spell the words right..
hehe was makin a little joke in there if you could tell..

But overall, I dont think its that big of a deal with spelling.. Unless its like every other word.. then It might get a little annoying..

IMHO ATS Standard needs not spelling, but more acts of kindness, and selfless acts!!! More people should be worried about other peoples feelings and those who are sick!!!
Spelling is like at the bottom of the list for me!!!

No offense or anyting OP... I feel ya, but really isnt that important..

A little something my son sent me when I started using email and seemed overly worried about failing to spell perfectly.

Have to make a reply to the first person who posted this I have a c grade in English, maybe in some peoples book thats great ok what ever I could't care less But their is a thing called "dyslexia" aswell which also people suffer from give some people a break if you can read it and reply whats the problem in my book.

But it never does any harm to look over your post and do a quick spell check aswell.

Thank goodness content is usually over 60% in comp-o-sition grading, or I wouldn't be here.

Awww Marg,

Don't be offended. People are just blowing off a little steam. There are a lot of folks on ATS who don't have English as their first language and the fact that they post on here at all shows an intent and intellect thats way beyond me, or alot of the nationalised English speakers, because there is no way I could communicate in Spanish or French in their national tongues.

You were correct on the first word....

BUT....

the second word IS spelt correctly - dialogue IS how non-Americans spell the word.

Besides............... you spelt my member name incorrectly. I believe the spelling bee comp is 2-1 to me!

Honestly, this is the guts of it. Let's forget my eyecatching thread title for a second. there's only one thing that grinds my gears... "your wrong". I saw about 2 or 3 new instances on ATS today. The doctorwhofan guy was one of them, can't remember the other names. Anyway, typos, occasional indiscretions - no problem at all by me.. we all do it (as your last post shows! *blushes*). It's just those few that I pointed out that are repeated over and over again on a daily basis - it verges on the unbelievable!

What would you like to see?

Banning people who don't use proper grammar and spelling?

Maybe limit membership to English speaking people only?

Who should set the standard?

I feel like your attacking and Harassing people who don't spell or use grammar as well as others. Thats sad IMHO

Take it easy, mate.. naming people is a lot easier than going back and quoting the exact thread posts as examples which is what I could do, and it seems people have done that to me - which I took all in good jest. Perhaps you should too!
