Demon summoning, anyone?

Summoning something out of curiosity is never good, a real purpose for it is better.

To say it is no danger to it is also wrong, you are actually opening a gateway to were these creatures live, and you call for a certain creature.

But others might follow....

Vassago is not a real demon in that sense, more of a leftover deity, a real demon is something else.
There are creatures that has been labeled as demons because of religous view points, and that all demons are evil, they are not evil as per say, they just dont like to be summoned to an existence they were not made to live in.

And as advice, work your way up before you try something like this, dabbling as you are doing you might just get something you dont want...

I understand the curiosity of such things, and I believe that demons exist. I also beleive in the Word, Our Lord Jesus which is why it would only make sense to believe that there are demons that exist, but to conjour them? I dont know if you could bring them to you, but that they probably already exist around you.

I believe that messing with that stuff can effect you in many ways and become what you expect. For instance, you may not see things move when you ask them to move but what you do is invite them into your life which can cause you to become depressed, angry, and well, any negative life experience.

This is what these things are all about. They certainly are not here to entertain you, maybe entertain 'themselves,' Im not sure.

One thing for sure, there is no one here that can tell you how to do it since how can they when they are human? Unless someone goes and 'gets dead' for a few days and studies being dead and comes back, how could they know anything about that?

Read the Bible, look it up online. Google everything and anything about what the Word(The Bible) has to say about Demons/Spirits.

Perhaps the experience may draw you near to God cause in order to believe in Demons, you have to know that there is a GOd. I dont have a religion by the way, I have a relationship with God. So Im no crazed lunatic thats telling you your going to hell for doing what ever your going to do or have done by now. Just know, God loves you and wants you happy, so becareful what you wish for, you might get it! God bless

Ok lets assume you summon this entity from another plane as it were, what makes you think it wouldn't be pissed off that you just pulled it from it's realm of existance into yours. It might want something in return, or this other entity might just be in another world obliviouse of our own, and you just scared the hell out of it.

I don't know about you but when my woman summons me out of bed for any reason, she better make me some damn breakfast!

I can suggest you use The Necronomicon (weather the book is real or not doesn't matter. it works if you think it can.)

You could also use a large variety of Grimoires. If you are willing to contact me on msn I can set you up with a few e-copies of books on demonology.

And giving up your soul? That's just pure silly. A soul is not able to be sold, and who says demons are evil?

I have said it before, I don't like the word 'summoning'in relation to demons. I think they are much too powerful to be summoned. I'd rather use the word 'invite'. I think that inviting a demon out of curiosity is a very wrong thing to do. Demons are not some kind of specimen you can pin down and gloat over. Don't insult them! Treat them the way you want to be treated, respectful. And even if you invite one, it doesn't mean the demon will actually show up. Why should they be at our back and call? Sometimes you have to be persistant, and try and try again. Also, he might not react the way you expected him to do.
Seriously, ask yourself WHY you would want to invite a demon? Are you seeking knowledge? Is it just curiousity? Make sure your motive is pure, because the demon will see right through you. I strongly suggest you first learn more about Satan and his legions, and about demons in general, before playing russian roulette. Check out some of Diane Vera's stuff online, that is a good source of information!

i would to mention that i have read stories that state that a failed summoning can cause madness.

but im not gonna discourage you experiment learn from experience.
just hope you dont go mad before you figure it out.

P.S oh and summoning a demon doesnt make you evil just as being an exorcist doesnt make you good.

tip: coming into contact with "higher" beings may influence you and change you forever, wether they are good or bad you must be aware of their subtle effects on you.
its just in their energy and if they decide to "influence" you (i dont know how this works), you may not notice, until something big happens

The spell if for summoning/inviting him and asking him to do something.

he idea of a demon wanting your soul in return for a favour is so rare that it is laughable. Read any given demonic text. They don't usually deman a soul. Demons are not brainless servants of Satan like most Christians would have you believe. They are also not all evil. First off, good and evil are relative, not absolute. What is considered good by some (missionary work for example), just might be considered evil by others (destruction of the religious cultures of countless peoples). Just keep in mind the motives of the demon/spirit you choose to summon. Also, decide what you want to offer the spirit. Be precise and clear about your intentions and the terms of your contract. When deciding on what to offer the spirit consider motivation. Why should a non-physical entity not of this plane of existance care about helping you, listening to you, or even granting an audience with you? Make sure you don't waste their time. One last piece of advice: Don't summon something you can't handle. Demons and other spirits are not always malevalent and are often more reasonable than most humans. Just be polite but not cowardly or timid and you should be fine.

This is great and down to earth advice! I completely agree with you on this, this is some decent advice and some good non paranoia information about demons.

And if so, the arcane ways in which to invoke them are so ridiculous and arbitrary that just about anything can summon one.

A butcher accidentally throwing a chicken's foot over his left shoulder on Shrove Tuesday while standing on one leg saying, "Wibble wibble" could call up a demon.

Instead, I'd suggest focusing your effort on something more productive and worth while. Investigate your own inner and spiritual power. If there's any true mysticism left in the world, it's in your own mind.

Unless you have a source of power stronger than it, don't summon it. If you have even the tinniest bit of fear watch out. It will use it against you. I could tell you how to ensure you had complete control over it, by why cast my pearls before swine. Besides, if you had that power you wouldn't want to bother with a demon anyways.

But take for example the demon Vassago (from that one huge long thread that ended up going nowhere). All accounts of Vassago state that he may be mischievous or playful, yet harmless - no soul required to summon.

If it wasn't so sad, your attitude towards all this would be almost funny. Vassago is by no means just a playful mischievous creature, you make him sound like a pixie. Vassago is a demon, a powerful prince of hell. Thinking you can actually call him just for curiousity's sake is not only completely idiotic and stupid, but alsof incredibly insulting to Vassago.
My bet is that he doesn't respond in any way to you and the other invokers, and if he does, he might turn out not to be nearly as playful and mischievous as you hoped him to be.
The stupidity of these actions is incredible. But who knows, you may get lucky, Vassago may decide to appear. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. And regret it.

Thinking demons don't exist is just as stupid as believing you can order them about for entertainments' sake.

Those of us with the power to bind any demon this fool tries to summon should do so. I personaly wouldn't wish upon anyone the consequences that could incur by someone not knowing what they are doing.

As far as I've seen, there's absolutely no proof to anything resembling a 'demon'. The idea of demons and other 'evil' spirits evolved as human society and culture evolved.

Evil spirits are (were) a much easier way to place blame. Why didn't the crops grow? No, not due to changing weather patterns or soil conditions - it was evil spirits. Why is that child screaming and ranting incoherently? No, not a mental illness or some form of metal poisoning or other scientific reason - it was evil spirits.

Why did I commit the horrible action of [insert horrible action]? Oh, the Devil made me do it, or the demons made me do it.

And that 'excuse' grew and grew over the millenia to the point that some people believe these little miscreants are actually real beings.
